There has been a lot of different discussions in some other threads about who is coming back next year. I see a lot of posts about who will be a free agent, whose contract expires, etc. My question: Where do you find out this information? For example, when does the contract for Maceo Baston and Stephen Graham expire, and will they be back next year? What about the others?

This is the best place for contract info:

Though they haven't updated Danny's salary yet. There's also hoopshype.com, which is more agressive about guessing (like on Danny's salary) but has a lot of accuracy problems, particularly when it comes to options.

Here's the one I use. "Notes" column is very helpful.

100%:
Danny Granger
Mike Dunleavy
Troy Murphy
Roy Hibbert

TJ Ford
Jeff Foster

90%:
Josh McRoberts

75%:
Stephen Graham

65%:
Travis Diener

45%:
Jarret Jack

10%:
Marquis Daniels

0%:
Rasho Nesterovic

You can probably put Jamaal Tinsley as 100% too if you count that sort of thing.

I'm not sure Graham will be back, and I think you are too high % on McBob being back.

Thanks for the links to the sites all. Interesting information that I didn't even realize was out there. Thanks!

Here's a question: when is the deadline for TPTB to decide whether to pick up Quis option for next year?

Because this may depend on how Dunleavey's injury is healing. If it looks bad, Quis may get another year, unless they have to decide in, say, June.

July 1st.

The only way that Dunleavy's injury results in the Pacers picking up Daniels' option is if Dunleavy is absolutely, positively suffering a career ending injury. If Dunleavy never plays again and takes a medical retirement next season, then his salary will fall of the books for the 2009-2010 season. That is the only way I can see the Pacers being able to afford Daniels' option.

The chances of that scenario happening are infinitessimal.

what are the chances that diener opts out? in other years, i think he might take a shot at getting a bigger or longer contract - a lot of teams could use a decent 2nd/3rd pg. but obviously with the economy now, diener might be better served to wait for summer of 2010.

I could be wrong, I consider them almost non-existent.

If the team wants to save money the chances are good that McBob will be back. I don't think Graham will be back, Rasho and Baston will definitely not be back, and chances are Quis won't be back although I do think Jack will return. So that leaves four open roster spots, two open spots when you account for the signing of draft picks. Unless we make a trade for multiple players or picks, McRoberts will probably be back.

Here's the thing with McBob...he'll re-sign. The Pacers want him back, he signs for cheap and he also puts butts in the seats because he's a local boy, this doubles if he plays more next year and does decent to well.
