I'd say it's essentially a wash. When they're healthy, Tins has proven to the better player, despite Starbury's hype. But Tins never stays healthy.

It's probably close to a wash ability wise but Tinsley's injury history and more importantly, his contract, make Marbury far more valuable.

I voted for Tinsley -- if he gets enough votes and some GM would happen to look at the board I want to give him some encouragement.

:eek::-o:hmm: :) Smilie overload!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't be serious. When they were both healthy and happy, Marbury was definitely the better player.

As far as his impact at this point, I'd say it is probably minimal.

It might be a wash now, but it wasn't in their primes.

Marbury has had seasons throughout his career that Tinsley could only dream of, and this is coming from someone who thinks that talent wise Tins could be a top 15 PG.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/stats?playerId=509

Look at the stats the dude put up from his Nets through first two years as a Knicks. Tins could not do that. He shot better percentages each year than Tinsley EVER did. His stretch from 1999-2005 may have been the best, statistically, of any PG in the NBA during that period. Yes, he has attitude problems, but so does Tinsley. Talent wise it's not even close. Marbury by a mile was the more talented PG. Notice I said was cause now I don't think either one is very valuable.

Philly is also in the Garden tonight to face the Knicks

Detroit is also in Orlando

If the Pacers can pull off a win tonight... the playoff race could get even tighter!!

Even with a loss, there's a good chance the standings at least stay the same and we won't lose ground

There will be sub.500 teams in the playoffs, the way it's looking. Might as well be us.

Pretty positive it's not going to happen, though, with the Granger / Dunleavy situation, and Milwaukee's unwillingness to fold. (Scott Skiles FTW?) I'd still love to see the team prove me wrong.

talentwise perhaps starbuey has half a step, but salaraywise Tinsley is a way better proposition, Starbury comes at 21.5 million for this year. Tins 6.4

But in all reality Star wins because he can play for any NBA team and Tins cant play for any NBA team other then the Pacers

Redundant thought of the year: Jack and Ford should never be on the court together.

Especially with Rush coming around. He and Quis on the wings could really be something defensively if we did it consistently.

Which brings me to this, I know I had the rant about Quis vs. Granger the other night, but if we could find a way to ship out Dun and save some cash and keep Quis, I'd be a really happy Pacer fan. Quis has played some great basketball this season, and we're a much better team with him on the court.

Danny had the advantage of RonRon raising the bar for him in practice. I believe that gave Danny a years worth of confidence in just a couple months. I disagree, Rush is light years ahead of where Danny was as a rookie on defense. Danny was more polished offensively, but Rush is a much better defender (at similar points in their careers), and it's clear his offense is coming along.

Ron was a huge asset to Danny, but at the same time that instability that season might have also held Danny back a bit. It's hard to say. Rush has had a season where the team hasn't had any trade demands or revolving doors in front of him.

Dannys shooting was better and more rebounds but not much other than that. Danny missed 4 games on the year and Rush has missed 7 so far. Lets hope we have another Danny in Rush. Rush is playing behind more players than Danny did when he was a rook. Next year that should clear up as Daniels might not be here.

Celtics can't guard our current lineup!
Will we have enough time?

Yeah, Diener really cost us defensively when he was out there.

So did Jack though...We just haven't had very good D from our PG/SG/Combo guards in Obie's eyes tonight.

Why can't Conseco Fieldhouse ever get that loud?

The stadium is designed to be loud. It has been several times this year.

Murphy is really playing some great D on Big Baby...except not really.

Jack has just looked awful tonight. Dumb mistakes on both ends.

I will pay money to make Jack go away.

I would love to see our starting lineup (until Granger gets back) as:

TJ
Rush
Daniels
Troy
Roy

Rush deserves to start and it seems to give him confidence when he gets to play a lot so we should start him and see how well he does.

35 seconds left, Rush open on the perimeter, need all the points you can get...so what does Ford do, take it right to the basket of course.

I made a thread ripping Jack about 5 to 10 games in this year.
I said he wasn't an NBA caliber player.
He was too slow & small as a 2 guard w/o a great jump shot.
As a PG he didn't have the handles or passing ability.
I apologize for that thread. I was wrong.
He reminds me of Billups.
A guy that doesn't fit the average body of either guard position, but gets it done.
I like his toughness & the fact he doesn't miss any games.
He is durable & continues to improve in all phases.
I'd like to keep Jack.

Tough loss for the Pacer family

Jack>Travis
By a mile!!

And I mean he resembles Billups.
Billups is better obviously.
Jack should pattern his game around Billups & work to be that.
I like that above lineup.
To all that question Ford, his teams never miss the Playoffs.
Well until now, lol.
You never know we may still sneak in.

These refs need to find a new job.

Oh & Ford helped got Toronto in last year.
The team blamed him for losing games 1 & 2 against Orlando last year.
They went w/ Calderon for game 3 & decided he was the guy, hahaha.
Well guess what Tronto?
You miss TJ & it wasn't his fault you were getting beat by the Magic.
They are just a better team as evident this year.
You are 13 games under .500.

I'm just wondering, why won't Murph ever shoot threes anymore?

They made Murph drive. He did pretty well a few times.

Murp has been playing pretty darn well. We lost this game on a ten point run in the early part of the fourth when Murphy was not in the game.

Well yeah. But once Murphy was WIDE for three. Instead he did his pump and drive. He is really good at it. But when you have a talent like shooting threes at PF, you have to take advantage of it.

Troy was great I thought on offense. The appeared to be trying to key on his three and he was fairly effective putting it down and going to the board. In fact, he had the behind the back, double-reverse pivot move down the lane that just shook Powe.
