If we seriously start Stephen Graham tonight, I don't know what I'll do, but I'll be very, very, very unhappy.

I think that you are going to be very, very, very unhappy tonight.

Graham playing ahead of the BRush in the lineup is IMHO expected.

But if Marquis is available, I can see him Starting at the SF spot.

ReginaldWayne
02-20-2009, 04:45 PM
I expect us to lose almost every game from here on out but for some reason I see us taking this one tonight with Jefferson-less wolves.

And i dont rly understand Graham starting. If anything hes needed for offense not defense so put him in the second unit with quis and start rush at SF. Put him on Foye and shut that boy DOWNN

I'll be extremely disappointed if Hibbert, Rush, and McRoberts don't play a lot of minutes tonight.

I'll be extremely disappointed if Hibbert, Rush, and McRoberts don't play a lot of minutes tonight.

Then you'll be extremely disappointed. I still think the organization is hell bent on making the playoffs and heck, that could continue until we are eliminated mathematically. Not that I hope that that happens I just think it is the case.

With the players we have left, I predict the Wolves will attempt 44 Free throws and hit 36. :-o

I also suspect we will have several unusual player combinations due to foul problems.

Just about the only way the lineup could get worse would be to start Baston instead of Hibbert. To leave Marquis on the bench to start is just nutty. He is the most effective penetrator and perimeter defender that gets any minutes on the entire team. Hopefully the Hibbert part continues to be true. Also, hopefully Diener gets more time at the point, with Rush on the floor at the same time to provide adequate help on defense and reduce our overall exposure to Diener's defensive issues.

I expect JOB to sub early and often from here on out. Of course, with the fouls, he won't have any choice. Even McBob will get to play -- when the league forces JOB to have five players on the court.

Murph has his usual double double.

Is our defense better or are the Wolves just really bad? I can't tell.

hahah awesome McBob

I love seeing our bench guys play.. because it shows EVERYONE how good they "really " are.. so we can call for JOB's head when he don't recognize it any other time... and play them..

It seems , the only times JOB recognizes we even have a bench , is when we are thrust into situations with injuries ... it is sad really , because if our guys were utilized correctly , there probably wouldn't have been as many injuries to our main guys this year... Instead JOB opts to play our main guys 26 to 50 mpg and then he wonders WHY they are injured or are too tired to close out games ...

Our defense has been pretty good actually... not stellar.. but pretty good ...
Good enough to have a nice lead... But the T-Wolves haven't been very good this year either..

Was definitely his fault.. not Murphy's ..

Preach it, brother! A lot of times I don't like Rasho, but with Diener he does great.

Im going to go ahead and say this. I believe that Diener is an above average PG and is going to grow to be a mini Jason Kidd. The dude knows everything about the floor, hes super duper humble, he'd never get into trouble, he hustles, he makes big plays, and he gives us huge runs.

I have been saying this since DAY ONE .. but everyone here at PD ridicules me for it .. AH WELL..

I STILL say if Travis at least got 25 mpg CONSISTANTLY.. he would develop and improve his game SOOOO MUCH ... Instead those minutes are mostly given to "turnover jack" and TJ ...

I am glad someone else recognizes and sees what I see with Travis ..

I look at him more like a pg in the mold of Mark Price though personally ..

The only thing with Travis, is he really isn't an offensive powerhouse .. He is a guy that makes the whole team better when he is on the floor..
He has excellent court vision .. very rarely makes mistakes , and honestly we don't need him to score any more than 8 to 12 points per game...
As long as he fascilitates the scoring for everyone else.. he will make a great pg for us ..

Any scoring is just icing on the cake .. IMHO

.
.
I'd love to see him given the chance to develop and improve his game by getting consistant minutes ... I can see a big improvement in his game ..occuring with him , much like with Dun last year .. But he has to be given the chance... I mean , you never know, we could have a future late-blooming star on our hands, but we will never know unless he is actually given the chance to even try ...

I'm just glad we were able to overcome the floor play of our starting guards. That may have been the ugliest floor play I've ever seen a pair of starting NBA guards play. It wasn't just turnovers; they made a ton of stupid plays and did a terrible job of hitting the open man, although JJ did play better near the end.

I like Jack.

I think he was a big part of this win. Someone pointed out during last game he took over as team leader. I think he did that tonight.

He's scrappy, makes some tough shots, penetrates, makes things happen, and is very reliable at the stripe.

Not sure why there is so much negativity.

Well scoring isn't everything. Kidd is one of the most valuable players in NBA today. Do you think he got it for high point games?

I'd like to see Diener only take about 3 shots a game next year, and do it when least expected. In the 76'ers game Tuesday, Diener was doing so many assists that he waved his hand at J-squared, and the whole team look at him and Diener just shot. That is what i'd like to see from him.

Thesterovic

Yeah, Jack held Foye to 36. I like Jack, too, but he didn't play well in many facets of the game tonight.

I say keep him next year. I love him to death like all the Pacers, but he does need to work on a few key things. But who doesn't? His courage sometimes scares me, but more times than less, his courage comes off well for him.

Another thing. This was the lineup in the 4th

PG - Diener/Ford
SG - Jack
SF - Rush
PF - Daniels
C - Murphy

This is what screwed us up in the end.

Well if the coach wants someone to take he load of making crucial shots, then the player has to be courageous right? J-squared takes the load.

Some people apparently haven't been paying close enough attention. Jack has two turnovers credited tonight. TJ has been on about a 5 per game average here for the the last several games. It's selective viewing. He's at least as turnover prone as Jack lately and no better, an possibly worse, defensively.

I'm not saying Jack is great or that he's our best PG. I just don't see how TJ and/or Diener are that obviously head and shoulders above him. In fact, as the season has progressed I think TJ has arguably dropped below him in terms of overall effectiveness.

I agree that Diener keeps turnovers down and the offense runs pretty smoothly with him. However, I don't think he can be as effective consistently getting much more than around the 20 minutes-ish he's settled in at recently. You've got to think about the defensive and general size disadvantages, too.

It's no small coincidence the lead grew after Murphy clocked Ford and shrunk when T.J. checked back in.
