Orlando is stockpiling the finest collection of backup point guards in the NBA.

Unfortunately, one of them has to start.

trading a 1st rounder for alston is silly, imo. But I suppose they were that desperate.

You must think a lot higher of Rafer Alston than most.

It would end up in the bottom 2/3 of a draft that a lot of ppl see as weak.

I remember Rafer being very important last yr for houston. Im pretty sure he went down with an injury then they started sucking

Late 1st rounders always wind up having more value than you'd think. I don't see Rafer alston doing a lot more than Tyronne Lue or anthony johnson.

case-in-point: Aaron Brooks, who made Walston expendable, was taken 26th overall two years ago. Von Wafer was taken 39th.

Well we will see how he adjusts but he can hit the 3 which is Orl's protocal and i think he can run the team.

Not desperate enough for Tinsley, evidently.

He's probably the best PG on their roster right now but he doesn't make them a contender with Cleveland and Boston. If they get Jameer back healthy they're right there.

Rafer is a good passer and he can hit the open three. He can push the tempo and find open shooters as well as Jameer Nelson. He knows how to get the ball into the post. He's a major upgrade over Anthony Johnson (average passer) and Tyron Lue (a horrible passer).
