Since we have a lot of new stuff to mess around with, I thought maybe we could have a thread for us to test out new features and not actually discuss anything. Go ahead, try things out in here before you screw up the rest of the board. http://www.pacersdigest.com/images/smilies/tongue.gifhttp://home.comcast.net/~zesty/images/pdbanner.jpg

good idea, there seems to be an issue in some posts with some html code showing, I'm looking into that.

Other problems or questions, either here or in the guidelines thread.

Is there a way to change the user info area cell on the left to automatically fill the entire height of a post so that longer posts don't wrap underneath that area? It sort of messes up the flow of some posts. It also looks like extra carriage returns keep getting entered. I think a Shift+Enter takes care of it in while posting, but it's annoying nonetheless.http://home.comcast.net/~zesty/images/pdbanner.jpg

yes that is coming in the coming days (is a software upgrade)
also you can set you sig in your user area.

I'm just testing my sig... not sure if it updates automatically, or if it has to be in bbCode. Right now I have it in HTML.<br><hr><img src="http://home.comcast.net/~zesty/images/pdbanner.jpg" align=bottom>

ok this is to test the left hand wrapping
as a tough decision, because we looked very hard at him. We actually looked to try to get a pick in the 20s with an eye for him."
As a selection of the Pacers, Harrison gets to play with Reggie Miller, who he says was one of his favorite players growing up, and play for NBA legend Larry Bird, who is the team's president.
"That's going to be weird, playing for a legend like that," Harrison said. "I'm happy they gave me a chance, and I'm going to use it for all it's worth."
Harrison, 7-feet and 260 pounds, led Colorado in scoring (17.1 points), rebounding (8.4) and blocked shots (2.9) last season.
Questions swirled about Harrison's maturity and work ethic. Some, including CU men's basketball coach Ricardo Patton, openly criticized Harrison's decision to leave Colorado a year early. Harrison announced his intention to skip his senior season with the Buffs and enter the NBA draft in late April.
About his first-round selection quieting naysayers, Harrison hedged.
"I'm going to have six, seven months to answer all of these questions, and believe me, I'm going to have a lot of answers for people," he said. "I'm on a good team. I have a lot of players to learn from and grow with. To me, I would have failed (not to get selected in the first round). But it didn't happen."

<P>David Harrison got more nervous as the first round whittled away. In his mind, failure would have come with being selected in the second round.

You'll see an "edit sig" option in there, and then you type out your sig, give it a name, save that, then you have to tell it to USE whatever name your sig is, for each post. THEN it will show up all over.

Those of you saying your sigs don't look right, they do to me. It may just be displaying wrong on your end. Jay, I see the comma in your sig and it looks fine.
Kid M, I see you're whole "Yeah that's right i said it" line.

Also jay, when it's a sig it doesn't recognize smilie codes :pacerzz: You have to tell it to display it like a picture.

Zesty
06-25-2004, 02:43 PM
Set your sig to use HTML and then use this code:

<img src="http://www.pacersdigest.com/images/nbalogos/pacers.gif"> Boom, Baby! <img src="http://www.pacersdigest.com/images/smilies/boomer_gopacers.gif">

No. There's just another step to the process here.

First you input what you want your signature to be, along with giving it some type of name. Then you go back to the sig page, and assign that name as your default, then it will be attatched to every new post you make.

I'll try to make a clear tutorial on this later.

Is it on purpose that the text of a message is vertically centered? It looks really bad actually. And the text is right up next to the images of some posters who have a certain size, Hicks for example.

Hicks

It is right now. If enough people really care about such a thing we can look into changing it (there doesn't seem to be anything we can't change here with time).
