View Full Version : T-Mac trade to Indy -- Should we do it?

Ron, Al, and Bendy-straw for T-Mac and filler (presumably Howard and Lue).

Would you do this trade?

The first time around I said no, but I've changed my mind. Tracy is better than any of the players we give up, can play 2 positions well, and would only cost us one starter (which is a headcase), and two bench players (which are both full of potential, but have not really helped us to this point).

DO IT DONNIE/LARRY.

Yes I would. T-Mac and Howard and change = good enough for me.

Yes.

Do I think it will happen? No.

Yes, do it.

We could always trade Howard for a diffrent SF. His contract is just long but for 4.5 million or so a team in need of a veteran PF [Chicago, maybe, or Utah, Atlanta? T-Wolves?]

I'm tired of the rumors, I think highly of TMac. I go for it.

I just don't think we do it.

I say we should do it.

Pacers need to make a move to compete with the Pistons.

Bender didn't exactly get us those 61 wins, and Harrington, at times played like a starter, but when he got the chance, he played more like a 6th man.

So it would basically be Artest for McGrady right now.

I am a bit afraid of what Bender "might" be once he's in his prime.

But this year, is are year and we need someone who can create his own shots and spread the defence; yeah we have Reggie... but he shouldn't even be starting.

I'm just hoping we make a pretty big trade without gutting out our whole team.

We are the team that won 61 wins last year.

So I think McGrady could help are scoring and could put us over the top next year.

Doh!

How tall is Howard?

I know JO is really a PF, but we could start Howard at PF then move JO to C. :D

JO should not be at C

And I doubt we resign Brewer now that we have Wright.

If it were any two of those players, it would probably be a fairly quick "yes". All three makes it really tough. I'm trying to find some perspective, and the best I can do is imagine if your team had T-Mac, who was locked up long term and did not want to leave. You are then offered Artest, Harrington, and Bender. Do you make that trade? I thinking likely not. Which means you would likely make the deal going the other way. So yeah, I guess I'd do it, although it really is a lot to give up.

I voted yes, but my vote is strictly conditional. I only want to trade for Tracy if we can be sure that Reggie is not a regular starter next year.

Pardon my lack of web-posting-savvy. How do I quote someone?
Pig, I'm a PG. Not sure I can help the Pacers much as a backup post player, but I do think I could beat Pollard for a place on the depth chart. http://www.pacersdigest.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I'm sure I'm in the minority at this point, but I still say no. The intensity that Artest brings cannot be replaced by Sleepy or his 30 ppg. At this point, I think we'd be better off keeping Artest and unloading Al to upgrade the C or SG position.

That being said, I'm not sure any of us know the full story on Artest. From what I've heard, he hasn't done anything serious enough to force a trade. If Larry is convinced that Artest needs to be moved, it will be hard to get better value for him than McGrady. That being the case, I would still probably not trade both Al and Bender with Artest. Take out one of those two, and insert Foster or Jones, and the deal is done IF we have to trade Artest anyway.

Yeeeeees.
JO and him on the same team....
If you think about it, it's kinda scary.
FA's would want to play with us, knowing they have a chance to play with Tracy and JO.

Al/JB/RA is to much, but also not interesting for Orlando, why would they want to buy our logjam unless they have trade options.

I would say that Ron/Al/Jones or something like that is more reasonable, or replace Jones by Cro or Foster, heck maybe they even want Polly.

But............patience is a virtue (one i'm lacking btw)

Oh come on, it's not THAT hard to change your avatar. ;)

Seriously though, I don't want to lose Freddie either. I'd do 2/3 of Al/Ron/JB, but not all three. I feel too attached to some of our players, I think.
