View Full Version : Official Fire the Pacer's Towel Boy thread

It is blatantly obvious that the cause for all of our problems is the Pacer's towel boy. Too many times during a game I have seen him lazily offer a towel to one of our players that has came off the floor. His utter lack of enthusiasm is poisoning the Pacer's desire to win. How demoralizing it must be to give it your all on the floor and have sweat dripping off of you only to come to the bench and be offered a towel by a towel boy in the most disengaged manner as humanly possible. As soon as the cancerous, uninspired, evil towel boys are removed from our sidelines I believe you will start to see a resurgence by this team and perhaps even a deep playoff run. It should be crystal clear to Larry that the winning atmosphere is facilitated by, not the towel boys, but the unquenchable thirst for success the our mop boys display. During the briefest of moments and with the swiftness of a gazelle, our mop boys dash out onto the court and eradicate any dribbles of sweat that may have tarnished the surface of our beautiful court. Until MORE mop boys and LESS towel boys appear on our sidelines, then the Pacer's season as we know it is doomed.

Quit bagging on Diener.

I do think the OP has a valid point... Losing seasons equal a lot of blame and most of it, frankly, is unwarranted and illogical.

You can't fire Diener because he's a player. We'd have to cut or waive him and the Pacers ain't going to do that and eat his salary for the rest of the season.

I don't think you can get rid of the towel boy.... that might open the gates to other dismissals as well.

And the last thing I want is for some dip-squat to start firing the Pacemates.

I heard we had a deal in the works to get the Lakers coveted towel boy, but Larry got greedy and added Tinsley to the deal and the Lakers abruptly declined.:D

12 posts about a "towel" boy, and not a single Eddy Curry joke.

That towel boy needs to go, he's the reason the Raptors went on that run last night!

I'm not the biggest fan of our current towel boy. But seriously, who else is out there? Are there really any available towel boys that would be an improvement?

Dallas fired Lil' Timmy and Toronto got rid of Bobby Jr., so they're both possibilities but I really don't think either of them would be good fits for us even if they are veterans in cloth management.

I would say trade for Jimmy from Sacramento, but I don't think their contracts match up.

The towel boy is clearly a problem. We need someone who can really mop up when called upon. We're not getting that in our towel boy. There's never any snap. I no longer think he's on the verge of a breakout and just soaking it all in now.

It's time he starched up and showed us what he's got. It's time for a new Era, time for the Tide to turn, time to make the fans stand up and Cheer! Let's see him show some emotion and Shout. Get tough and give us an Arm and Hammer defense!

If he's just going to be Downy soft then it's time to sending him packing. There's a laundry list of names just waiting to step in and do it up right. We fold enough in the 4th quarter as it is, the towel boy's folding isn't helping.

Bball makes some good points. This time of the season, however, everyone can start to get a little frayed around the edges. Does he bomb the towels from long range too much? Yes. Should he take it to the player more? Yes. But I don't think we should just hang the kid out to dry.

I said "BALL kid, not BALD kid". He is.

Although I've been going with Teen Wolf the last year or so. Just waiting for him to show up to Conseco surfing on top of Dun's new retro van. It's the natural progression for his "underage liquor buying" facial hair. $10 says his license says "McLovin"

I am in favor of keeping the towel boy. He tries to talk defense in the locker room at half time of each game. They just won't listen to him. Dick Harter has him stuffed into a trash can. Its totally unfair. The kid really knows his stuff. Give him a chance to shine.

Please lighten up on him, get real people. :(

Larry, you know whats really going on, help the kid.
