MIAMI - The Shaun Livingston (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/topic/entertainment/shaun-livingston-PECLB005413.topic) comeback is over. At least for now. At least with the Miami Heat (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/topic/sports/basketball/miami-heat-ORSPT000190.topic).

Livingston was informed of his release after Monday night's 91-84 loss to the San Antonio Spurs (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/topic/sports/san-antonio-spurs-ORSPT000116.topic) at AmericanAirlines Arena, with the team expected to make a formal announcement later this morning.

The former Los Angeles Clippers (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/topic/sports/los-angeles-clippers-ORSPT000103.topic) point guard was signed as a free agent on Oct. 3. He had been attempting a comeback from a gruesome Feb. 26, 2007 knee injury that left him with a dislocated left kneecap and three torn ligaments.

While the comeback had been limited to four appearances totaling 41 minutes this season -- his first NBA (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/topic/sports/basketball/national-basketball-association-15008001.topic) action since the injury -- his release was based more on the salary cap that fitness.

Interesting that they didn't really give him a chance given their point guard situation.

there were nba experts in my country saying that this guy will be one the best guards in the future a couple years ago. i didn't see anything that special about him even before the injury.
