What is your favorite aspect of this game we all love.

?

The swish of the net after a shot ripping through the bucket?

The squeaks of shoes on the floor at the beginning of a new season?

The drama before/leading up to a draft?

The dunk?

The three point shot?

The vaunted mid-range jump shot?

A hook shot as it arches just inches over the defender's outstretched hand?

The physical defense played, the bumping and banging inside the paint?

What are your favorite parts of basketball?

VINCE CARTA CAN DUNK TEH BALL!!!

Seriously, I love the fast pace of NBA basketball combined with the excellent defense. The 24 second clock is the best thing in sports compared to the 35 second clock in college.

I can't pick just one, I love it all.

I love great defense, I love aggressive intense play, I love passing.

But the reason why I love basketball so much more than any other sport, the intimacy of it. Only 5 guys per team on the court at the same time, the action never stops like in other sports, I could list a 100 things, but I won't

Shot-blocking, and the teeth-rattling, bone-crushing screen off a defender's blind side.

Speed combined with scoring (as opposed to hockey). I'm into immediate gratification. I'm the kind of guy who would play speed golf. I have no patience for chess (I **** people off by making a move two seconds after them.)

I need things constantly going on. That's why, while I like football, I find it tedious. I'd rather drive a nail in my eye than watch baseball.

The three and mid range shot are my favorite. Its so rare to see guys that can consistently make those now a days.

I like most of these, however I'm very down on the unintended effect the three-point shot has had on the game. My favorites:

as a player, 'threading the needle' with an entry pass into the post that leads to an easy basket.

as a fan, I just love the drama of the fourth quarter of a close game. Clutch offensive performances, tight defense, and crucial rebounds. And the little things that make them all possible.

- Shooting
- Defense [Just one on one defense, not steals, etc.]
- Steals
- Blocks
- Transition
- Dunks
- Passing
- Close games.
- Crunch time.

Ok, basicly everything.

Close games and crunch time!

I love to watch the games that are closely matched and basically the chess match the coachs play with the players and the plays they call in the last minute of the games.
