View Full Version : Shaq to NJ?

Was just thinking about this:

if the Lakers are going to build around Kobe and dump shaq, the FIRST thing they will look for is a team with a great PG to push the ball, and a big man that can run.

NJ seems like the most viable option.

Would anyone else here NOT be surprised by a shaq for Kidd and KMart deal?

Seems like the most logical fit to me.

(assuming the Nets trade KK for Rahim:)

Nets:
Shaq
Rahim
Jefferson
Harris
FA PG

Lakers:

FA C
KMart
George
Kobe
Kidd

EDIT: I supposed LA could include Fisher and NJ could include COllins in the deal to fill the holes on the other's roster.

Most reasonable possibility I have seen yet. Makes some sense

I think that Chicago could actually fit Shaq.

They have alot of young talent there with Curry, Chandler, 3rd pick.

Curry/3rd Pick/Davis for Shaq?

Don't know how how the Bulls are on winning now or waiting, if they want to win now they do something like this but if they want to wait they don't do something like this. Would never happen anyways but just a random thought.

The Magic are another possiabilty. Hell maybe Indiana could work a 3 way with LAL and Orlando to land T-Mac but I doubt it because Shaq probably only wants to go to Orlando because of T-Mac and I really don't want to give LA anything of value. I wouldn't give a bag of chips for that piece of **** Shaq.

I would like to see Shaq in one of teams uniforms:

LA. Clippers- Would never make the playoffs there.
Boston- Would never win anything with Ainge there.
Atlanta- Wait do they have a team?

Exactly what Stern wants.

Just kidding. The trade makes sense though.

I dont see ANY players on chicagos roster that LA would want.

Eddy Curry.

He is just like Shaq, fatass and lazy only two inches shorter.

The whole point of dumping shaq and Phil is to get rid of the restricting triangle and re-create showtime. Jerry Buss wants fast players and great finishers.

Not to mention if Chicago offered their whole roster for shaq Buss would laugh and hang up the phone.

looks very good for the lakers. they ought to take the deal.

for the nets though... i know that kidd is getting old and that k-mart will probably be overpaid, but they're left with shaq and not much else. reminds me a lot of shaq's old orlando teams, minus the shooters. that said, shaq's orlando teams were good enough to contend...

Assuming they trade for Rahim, they'd have the best front court trio in the NBA, bar none.

Jefferson is a heck of a player.

Ainge is gonna try really hard to be a part of any deal here. With 3 first round draft picks & LA going into rebuild, Boston will be a player in this.

Dallas could do it and still have a team when they're finished.

I don't think Thorn would do this becos it favors LA. Shaq would make a difference, only for 1 or 2 years but you need good guard play to win in the playoffs. If you remove Kidd and Kittles, the only player who has a jumper on NJ is Lucious Harris. NJ is only a good team bcos of Kidd.

I don't think anybody is ready to take Shaq's $25 mill per year contract especially bcos he just has 1-2 more years.(lack of hunger and fitness) Kupchak is just getting back at Shaq for all those comments made in the regular season about "I am not the general manager" etc. Lets see what Kupchak says when Kobe bolts.

Shaq probably only wants to go to Orlando

I don't think Shaq will ever go back to Orlando. He left them after they had just gone to the ECF with Penny and company. There was some bad blood there with the fans or something. It wasn't just going to L.A. that made him move.

Don't forget that Shaq gets $29 million this season and $32 million his last year of this deal. That doesn't make it easy to fill in around him.
