Though he played with a noticeable limp from his sore right knee, Dunleavy said it was just part of the process of recovery and didn't hamper his game.

"Everything else felt great," he said. "I'm comfortable with what we're trying to do at both ends of the court. That's the least of my worries. My knee and my conditioning are the top two. I've just got to keep working through it to get ready for the regular season."

I think I read earlier that he was battling tendonitis in his knee. Does it ever really go away?

He limped after coming down wrong early on, but he looked fine later.

Tendinitis never really goes away. I was a distance runner in high school and believe me I know from experience. Or for a more obvious case look at Marquis Daniels, who misses a game for tendinitis at least every week.

That limp was from him landing wrong on his ankle, and didn't have anything to do with his knee. Kevin Lee pointed that out in the call-in show last night.

I'm more worried about the fact that :wells: says we should call him "Smooth".

There's only one "Smooth" and Mike ain't it. (Unless he starts wearing a do-rag, maybe.)

Well, considering his "knee and conditioning are his top two" worries, I think it's only appropriate for us to worry about it as well.

If Dunleavy misses any significant time, we're going to be really, really bad. Him and Danny are the two indispensable players on this roster.

"I think right now I'm just trying to get through it," he said. "Hopefully it'll go away, the soreness. There is some discomfort that causes some limping. It's just being able to tolerate it as much as I can and not risk anything else."-Mike Dunleavy

For real, I have tendinitis on the inside of my left elbow and it sucks. I do physical therapy weekly. They rub me down with cocoa butter and then scrape these tools up and down my arm really hard. They also do ultrasound therapy, as well as shock therapy where they send electricity through it. It is really a hassle, and hurts sometimes. With therapy though he should be fine.

I haven't decided which would be the cooler look: Mike and his do-rag or Mike in his 70s plaid jacket. MR will have to provide the visual evidence so I can decide.
