alot of us don't have a direct tv satellite dish .. but thx for the info :-)

I wish there were more places online that picked up streaming games... especially when the games aren't on FSN Midwest

I don't understand why one of the ESPN channels don't pick up all these preseason games.. it is nuts... it seems they wold rather play the same old news all day long instead of playing actual games that people care about watching..

In a word, the issue is MONEY. The NBA as well as the Pacers are experimenting with how they can maximize revenues. If the NBA thinks they can make more money not televising games, you will not see any. The NBA is going to be a worldwide league in 10 years with teams in Europe and China IMO. Just follow the money and everything makes a lot more cents...

Kemo

at the half .. Rush 4/5 fg .. with 8 pts..
Graham playing nice with 8 pts . 2/2 fg ,1/1 3pt , 3/4 FT

Granger 9 pts , Dun 9 pts
Hibbert has only played 11 min , 2 pts , 2/2 FT and he hasn't taken a shot yet.. has 1 block . 3 Reb , 1 assist.

on a side note ... OJ Mayo has been playing very good this whole preseason .. he has 17 pts in the 1st half ..
6/7 FG, 2/2 3pt , 3/3 FT

Mayo is gonna give EVERYONE a run for their money for R.O.Y if he keeps playing and putting up a stat line like this..

OakMoses

Rush is a lot more athletic than he gets credit for. In the first half of this game he's grabbed a rebound about a foot above the rim, blocked a shot from Darrell Arthur, and dunked off a great lob pass from Ford. His athletic ability is at least on par with Granger's if not better.

Danny needs to learn how to take advantage of smaller defenders. He's had Mayo on him for most of the first half and hasn't tried to post him up once.

When we play Danny at PF our rebounding is terrible.

Jeff Foster has 4 assists in the first half?

They've been giving him the ball on the elbow a lot and he's been passing really well. I know there was at least one play where he made a great pass to Dunleavy who missed the layup.

He looked out of sync in the first quarter, but played well in the second. He's being very aggressive, but he's not finishing all that well.

yeah thats how he played last year when he had the ball..he kinda doesnt know what the hell to do with the ball when he has it in mid air or when he drives..he also seems very disoriented or clumsy when he goes up..i dont know what it is but it bothers me haha

Mayo is an offensive machine. In no time at all, he will be averaging 25ppg.

Kevin Love will have to average 15 boards a game to match this guy.

In the first quarter it was Granger & Dun. In the 2nd it was Jack, Rush, and Graham.

He hasn't really been scoring on his man. He's been open thanks to ball movement and in transition. He's also made some pretty well contested shots. Watching the game it doesn't look like he's destroying any particular guy, just like he's making every shot.

BlueNGold
10-17-2008, 09:20 PM
Something I've noticed several times over the preseason...

Hibbert misses two straight free throws, then comes back and slams it. I have noticed a pattern with him that whenever he screws up, he makes it a point to try to do something good the next time down the court....and he usually succeeds. Maybe just coincidence...

Quis
10-17-2008, 09:20 PM
Make that 10 points and 4 blocks on 4/5 shooting. The only negative about Hibbert's game tonight is his 2/6 free throw shooting. Not to get too excited, but from everything he's shown thus far I think he might be a top-10 center right now,

One minor bit of temporment: Hibbert deserved 10 boards, not 12. On one of the last plays of the game, he tipped a missed shot from another Pacer twice, neither went in, and he got his 11th and 12th boards for that. Still a solid game for him. I haven't looked at the box score, but he didn't seem to play as many minutes tonight, either.

Pacers
10-17-2008, 11:23 PM
The only problem I saw with Hibbert was that he was beat on some rebounds that should have been his. Quite a few times he was either getting boxed out when he shouldn't have been, or had his man boxed out but still didn't come up with the rebound. His baby hook is to die for, though.

I was really impressed with Rasho. I haven't seen him play ever, so I was happy with his effort.

Really happy with Brandon, too. He shot well, it seemed.

This was the first game I've been to since Game 1 of the ECF against Detroit in 04. Great time, though I guess I never paid attention to how much the crowd noise makes everything more exciting. We were a small bunch tonight, but made more noise as the night went on.

I don't know what the hell has gotten into Hibbert, but I hope he can keep it up.

Nothing has "gotten into him." He's always had a polished offensive game at Georgetown. He just didn't score as much because he played near the free throw line most of the game on the high post.

Hibbert has always been a good player. People just slept on him because they fall in love with athletic ability and potential.

I was basically laughed at by some when I posted this:
http://www.pacersdigest.com/apache2-default/showthread.php?t=30452

Edit: I also like this quote from the draft thread:

seriously dude have you ever ****ing seen hibbert play in college?????????? he's horrific!!!!!!!!!! he cant jump or run or block a damn shot!! and gets beat all the time!! that lineup is horrible!!!! ****ing hibbert!! hahaha my god..im more pissed off about trading ike away and drafting this stiff!! if you thought bird didnt play ike cuz he didnt fit? he just went and drafted the slowest player in the draft to mesh with and uptempo offense!!! and defense im not even going to go there!please resign david harrison now!!

Double double big Roy, nice block.

Back in his soph season I think he broke a Gtown record for consecutive free throws made. Halfway during his junior season though he started going downhilll a bit in his free throw shooting and I don't know why. His form is good. His touch is great. He should be a 70% free throw shooter or better. He must not be concentrating. Has to be a small mental thing which he has no excuse for not overcoming.

Foster will not be our starting power forward. Murphy will be in barring any complications from his injury. Other than that, I feel we have ourselves a lineup.

Is there any reason to believe Hibbert's play is entirely due to it being preseason and not a testament to his skill level? I can't think of any.
