I have really been enjoying the Ladies of the Music thread and want to expand in this thread to include some of the fellas of the music.

Sigur Rós -- Sćglópur

This song is mostly sung in Vonlenska (a gibberish language they made up), but includes Icelandic in the beginning and end.

You definitely heard it here first: This is a local Silver Lake neighborhood band, they're still poor as ****, tending bar, and about to break out in a big way.

I've heard mixed opinions about Hazards. Is it more like the crane wife or did they tone the rock down a bit?

Well, I suppose you can flip a coin. I often find that when a band tries to create some sort of album-length opus, the songs themselves can suffer and the entire concept falls flat.

This is not the case with Hazards. It is wonderful from end-to-end, in my not-so-humble opinion.

But if you fall on the side of hating any full-length concept album - if the mere idea of Kid A, Dark Side of the Moon or Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots makes you cringe - you might not like this for the same reason you don't like the others.

As I said above, a lot of bands try the concept album approach, and there are more failures than successes.

However, compared to other albums of this variety, Hazards is a standout and I feel better as a music fan for having listened to it.
