May have asked this before, IDK. Anyway i'm wanting a good place to download music. I have tried limewire a handful of times and still have the same problem...hardly ever get any connection. It sucks.

Thought of paying for napster, like 12 dollars a month. Anyone use Napster or heard if its good now? Or know of any other place?

Also tried Morpheus before but I thought it was worse than Limewire.

if you're looking for specific sounds, some stuff that is not on cd or just a single mp3 then limewire is the answer, sucks you don't get any connection...
however if you're looking for complete albums or discography then using vuze azureus to download torrents is great (you find the torrents on the net, www.mininova.org for instance)

I know several people who use Ares. I tried it once, but didn't like it.

I use Limewire, and get great connection. When I DL, I'm usually getting atleast 10songs a time and finishing those within a min or two.

I use the pandora hack on newer stuff or if I only want one song off an album. I use mininova or pirate bay for whole albums.

Same here. Maybe your limewire problem might just take some troubleshooting, rommie. I used to use Audiogalazy way back when, but now it's only ever been limewire for me.

Errr,You might not wanna use mininova,as they will hand over IP's to "officials".

The best is www.btjunkie.com

The best place to find LEGAL links to MP3s is this music blog caching site:

Hype Machine
http://hypem.com/

Fair warning: this site and most blogs in general focus on hard-to-find/new music. So if you're looking for major releases, you won't find it there.

I used to use Ares, but since about June I have been having a lot of problems with it.

Soulseek is pretty good. Full albums and all.

But now that I am at Penn State we get a free Ruckus account. These files can't be transfered to an Ipod or MP3 player though. Well at least until i find a program to switch the file type...

I use Limewire to download my music but mostly i use it as my torrent hosting software. Works great most of the time and when it doesn't I cancel everything that is downloading and start over

For legal stuff there's iTunes but I dislike the DRM scheme they use. Even better is amazon's mp3 service.

Very cheap and the artists gets something out of it as well.....

I use emusic.com. Works alright for me. I hate using the torrents or limewire kind of things. Too sloppy and involved.
