View Full Version : Jason David...yikes

It turns out the Colts did the right thing letting Jason David go. I just saw him get burned in this preseason game with the Saints against the Cards and searched for him to see how he was doing in New Orleans.
It ain't pretty.

Never liked the guy. Always thought he was a scrub.

I liked him just not as a starting corner. He does a good job of keeping guys in front of him but thats only if he has safety help over the top, if not he gets burned a lot.

He's a guy whose game worked pretty well for cover 2 but is pretty worthless in just about every other defense.

Jason David gets burned for a deep TD at least once every other game.

Really not sure how the Saints saw video and didn't think he was purely a zone corner. Awful move on their part.

Exactly. When I learned the Saints played more of a man-to-man that a zone secondary scheme I knew that was going to be a bad pickup for them.
How is that so easy for fans to observe but the men in suits making millions a year can't figure it out?

2 years before he left I was wanting him gone, he got burned so often so badly in a defensive scheme that best suited him I was beyond fed up. So glad we got rid of him, I think we actually got a draft pick out of the deal too iirc?
I liked him. He was a gritty player who gave us solid play in the Cover 2. Was he the most talented? No. Are our current starting CB's better? Yes. A lot. However, for a 4th round pick, the Colts received a lot of production out of him. I wouldn't mind him coming back if the Saints end up cutting him. He's probably better than Tim Jennings or TJ Rushing as backups.

David is better suited as a nickel corner in cover 2 system. Saints are exposing his flaws in their system and will continue to get burned.
