(Editor's Note: This space represents a blank canvas that will periodically be filled by whatever crosses the mind of Scot Pollard, as frequently as he decides. Enjoy.)

(Pollard ponders his recent bout with a stomach virus)
The winter weather finally caught up to me. In December, my whole family Ė my wife and both kids Ė got sick with the stomach flu and Iím sitting there going, ďYou guys just donít have strong immune systems. Youíre weak.Ē But the thing was circular, man. It came back and bit me right on the butt. And I was sitting on my butt for three days. Iím sick of hearing about the Atkins Diet. Iím sick of hearing fast-food restaurants going ďAtkins-friendly.Ē With this Pollard Diet, I lost 10 pounds in 48 hours. So forget about Atkins, or the Hollywood miracle diet. Itís as easy as pie. Just get yourself a little stomach virus and itís guaranteed weight loss.

(Pollard ponders Super Bowl week)

Iím not much of a sports fan that really pays attention to the Super Bowl for the purpose of seeing whoís winning, because I really donít care. Iím one of those people that watches it for the commercials. I heard that Viagra spent $20-something million on the Super Bowl. Now, tell me, whoís your fan base? Impotent men? Thatís whoís watching the Super Bowl? Thatís worth $20 million to Viagra to advertise during the Super Bowl because the guys watching are impotent? I mean, some people have serious problems and Iím sorry for that. But thatís a lot of money. If I was them, Iíd just go around and give out free samples Ė to guys like me, for example. Iíll try it. Iíll check it out.

(Pollard ponders the Raidersí coaching change)

Iím not the biggest football fan in the world, obviously, but if I had to pick a team itíd be the Raiders. And they hired a guy named Norv as their head coach. The Raiders are the perennial bad boys of the NFL. Theyíre the guys that get penalized the most, lead the league in fines and suspensions for misconduct. Theyíre the bad boys, year in and year out. And now theyíre going to be led on the field by somebody named Norv? Come on. Just change your name, dude. Go to Norm, and they can call you Storminí Norman. But Norv? He must be a winner. The Raiders wouldnít have hired him if he wasnít. But still Ö Norv?

(Pollard ponders his role with the Pacers)

Before the winter weather caught up to me, I was starting to get into a little groove. I was feeling like myself on the court and I hadnít really felt that way. I hadnít felt comfortable, hadnít felt like I was contributing. So I started to get into that a little bit. Itís not what I envisioned when I came here in the first place, but Iím making progress and taking steps toward getting where I envisioned, in terms of production and contributions to this team. We have the best record in the league right now, and Iím just happy to be making a positive contribution to that, as opposed to just going out there and taking up space.

Pollard is an easy guy to like, I really hope he can continue to contribute for his sake

Yes, it is real easy to see why this guy was so liked in Sacto.

I wish his jumper were as sharp as his wit.

I wish he'd bring back the samari look...Indy could use a little livenin' up!

Scot was shaven against the Suns. I'd like to see him bring back the samurai chops again. :D

I think ROC is right, at least partially. I wouldn't be surprised if Pollard is our starting center by the end of the season.

I've also been pulling for Freddie to become an impact player. A bit more confidence, and he could be an invaluable force off the bench.

I'm guessing you don't get to watch many of the games?

He's sine shaved that off and is back to bald.

Pollard has never been starting center material. What on earth makes you think he will be here? Because Jeff is not as good as Brad so Pollard must be better than Jeff? Jeff is better than Pollard so why would Pollard start over him?

I hope Pollard can contribute like he did in Sacramento but that was NEVER starter material. His Best year he was not as good of a rebounder or defender as Jeff. His shooting % is a little better because he dunked more than shot but thats it.
