The funny thing about it is, the Pistons shut down everyone but Smits and Reggie was the only other player in double figures. I think the results of this simulation is very believable. The Pacers win game 1 by 15.

Granted this is highly unscientific (the Pistons played Billups and Hamilton the entire game), the final score and flow of the game is believalble.

Thus far, Billups and Smits have been lighting it up. Rip showed up for this game but Reggie continues to struggle. Antonio Davis made his presence felt in this game (in 98' he's better than Campbell, Okur, or any other bigman on the Pistons bench).

I don't what what's funnier... Rik playing 42 minutes or Rik grabbing 14 rebounds against those guys. I loved the guy, but c'mon. That's absurd.

Further, Dale's rebounding 'high' through three games is 8. (Don't let Peck see this.)

If Rik keeps this pace up for about 1 more game then he will match his season total for rebounds! :P

I have a question. Where do you have the Wallaces playing? From the scores it looks like you have the sim pitting Ben versus Rik, and the sim is resulting in Smits abusing him with his jumper. And I'm pretty sure Reggie would never be held to 4 in any of these games.

This was one heck of a game! :unimpressed:

Reggie made it happen, Smits was shut down on the boards, Rip was on fire and Ben had a monster game. The Pacers shot 53% but allowed the Pistons to shoot 50%. Pistons led by two at halftime and the game was even going into the fourth.

All of this is hypothetical but if you simulated these two teams, adjusted the minutes for each player, and ran 100 simulation games (50 at home and 50 away), I'd venture the Pacers would win 60 and the Pistons around 40 - give or take 5 games. If I had the time I'd do it, but I don't so I won't.

-Or "04 Pacers had the refs" threads.

-Or "91 pistons would have beaten the 04 pacers in 5 games at best" (even though the 91 Pistns lost in the ECF) threads.

-And of course I go ahead and start a thread and SIMULATED the series on NBA Live (which of course my team would win rather easily).

-Of cousrse, anybody that had the NERVE to be offended would certainly get piled on by myself a "classless jerk".

Oh, I have no doubt, MagicRat.

I'm just a little amused at the "we're unbiased and you're a classless individual" people. If you're going to get into Kstat hate-fests, at least be men about it and give the real reason why.

-I wonder how certain people would feel if the PACERS were up 3-1 over the Lakers, and I was starting "04 Pistons lost because of Sheed's foot" threads.

This isn't to offend naptown, I dont mind him and he has the right to his opinion, I just wonder how the forum would react if the shoe was on the other foot......

- Sheed didn't miss the last game of the series due to injury.
- But they didn't. The Pacers probably wouldn't be getting the calls against the Lakers, either.
- Would have likely been ignored.
- This was not simulated on NBA Live.
- If you say so.

Depends if it is on a Pacers forum or a Pistons forum....

-Bball

Exactly. Thank you bball.

That IS exactly right. I dont know why you're complaining, what the hell else do we have to talk about but what ifs, and what will happen next. We are OUT of the playoffs, this is what fans do when their team is gone for the year. What if this, what if that, if he wasnt hurt or if this coach did this, yadda yadda.

Its not like were invading a pistons forum and talking like this. That would just be plain annoying. But you are here at a Pacers forum on your own will so you should expect it. You can bet that if the pacers beat the pistons, the detroit posters would be doing the same thing on their own boards.

and p.s. when someone tries to compliment your team, just take it as a compliment. Not many pacer fans after losing a close series are going to say "geez those guys are just LEAGUES ahead of us, that team is the greatest ever" but as a whole everyone on this board has shown great respect for your team, probably moreso than any other teams fans would. I can only IMAGINE what the lakers fans are gonna ***** about after Detroit beats THEM. So you dont have to go defending your team everytime someone here tries to make them a compliment.

Someone saying "Wow look at how bad the lakers are... too bad Jermaine and Tinsley were hurt in the ECF, we wouldve had a chance against them" is NOT bad mouthing your team. And I'm sure you guys would have had a MUCH better chance last year had Chauncey not been hurt against NJ. Well same difference.

I mean the worst I EVER said about the Pistons this year was that BEn Wallace was the worst offensive player int he league. And he is.

Just relax, lay off the posters on this PACERS board, and try to ENJOY the upcoming victory against the Lakers. I mean I don't think theres one person on this board that wants your team to lose, so you shouldnt act like we're all against you.

First of all, if it was ANYONE not named LA this whole forum would be rooting against us. However, I have no problem at all with that, and thats beside the point anyway.

2ndly, I could care less about the TOPICS in this forum. I take offense to the PERSONAL attacks I've been getting for defending my team. Thats all. I dont expect anyone in this board to respect the Pistons. However, respect for another individual is entirely different. I hate the Lakers, but that doesnt mean if someone is a Laker fan I hate him too.

Most people arent attacking you, just attacking your posts. To be honest most of your posts post-ECF's has sounded pretty boastful in a very subtle way.

and i know some have attacked your person, i remember someone calling you classless and what not, and they are entitled to their own opinion but im not defending them. I'm just saying you ARE at a pacers board, and you SHOULD expect the response people are giving.

And hell yes if the Lakers werent in the finals i would be rooting against Detroit but thats completely irrelevant.
