View Full Version : Hibbert and Rush Press Conference

A press conference with Hibbert and Rush is scheduled for 2:00 PM today, July 15th.

We'll officially get to meet the players and hear their reactions about the trade and impressions on the Pacers organization. I could be wrong, but this will be the first time we've heard from Hibbert since the draft. He wasn't in New York in the green room and I haven't seen any quotes from him. I'll be particularly interested in hearing his thoughts.

Here's hoping the media asks some interesting questions instead of the routine, "so how does it feel to be in the NBA?" questions.

Glad TPTB are promoting this press conference on pacers.com, the Star, etc. Not!

I know he was on 1070 one afternoon, and I believe he was also on one of the other radio stations, too. Don't remember a lot about the interviews other than he was well spoken.

Pacers.com DOES mention it at the end of one of the articles posted the day the trades became official.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's on pacers.com or nba.com live. If not live, it certainly will be up later.

Yeah, he was on 1070. They have his podcast on the site you can download.

Tomorrow at 11AM for Ford, Jack, Maceo, and McRoberts. Rasho won't be there.

The past couple of days, Jack and Ford have been shooting around in the Pacers' practice gym at noon. Rush was there yesterday, too. They are just working on motion shots with (I think) Dan Burke.

I thought it might be, but Pacers.com has nothing. :grumble:

Nothing right now. I guess it'll be online later this afternoon.

I doubt we get any coverage today of the press conference considering Peyton Manning had knee surgeory and that is the local lead sports story. I've had 1260am on for about 10 mins now, and it is all peyton and his knee.

By interweb you mean a live webcast, there's nothing about it on Pacers.com or IndyStar.com right now. Sometimes there's abit behind the 8-ball. Keep trying...

If nothing else they ususally place a link up to the streaming video later.

Boyle and Dakich are still hosting on 1070. They are going to have Rush on shortly and Hibbert sometime later this afternoon.......

Never heard of it?

1. interweb
A sarcastic term for the internet. Often used in the context of parody regarding an inexperience, unskilled, or incoherent user.
"Hay guys, I'm using teh interweb!!! "

i wonder why they just don't do them all at the same time

That would make for one crowded head table!

Seriously, if they split them up, it gives the team reps a better opportunity to talk about each player present, and gives more time to each player to talk.

Two shorter pressers is probably a better idea than one very long one.

I'm actually disappointed. The PR guys could've atleast posted a notice stating that today's press conference has been either delayed or postponed.

And they were doing such a nice job up 'til this point. :(

Wait...was there a press conference today?

or

Was it delayed?

Hicks

It was not delayed, there just hasn't been much coverage of it yet.

Speak of the devil. Pacers.com now has the transcript up:

The press conference did take place. Usually it's broadcast live, but not this time around.

Obviously, I was a bit frustrated earlier because the press conference wasn't held live or there wasn't at least a video posted (at Pacers.com), but they do have the transcript posted now.

Good read. Both appears to have come off as good hard working kids.

I also like JO'B challenging both Rush and Hibbert to compete for a Starting Spot...and not to simply "fit in".

Yes, at 11AM. Rasho will not be there. I think he's playing in a FIBA tourney right now.

Since yesterday's was not on TV or streamed live, I'm not expecting it today, either. Although these are vets (with Ford being somewhat of a big name), so maybe they will. I doubt it.

It looks like Hibbert has lost some weight which is probably a good thing.

That was one of the knocks on him in college, that his conditioning wasn't that great. Before the draft it was mentioned that he was working with a personal trainer, which should help him a lot heading into his rookie season.

Here's the link to the video of the presser:

I don't know. I am watching it now and you only see his upper body. His upper body always seemed pretty trim but his lower body is a bit clunkier. Or maybe it is just those weird shorts the Georgetown players wear.

Anyone catch the presser today?
