The discussion in the movie thread prompted me to create this. The options in the poll are kind of broad, so feel free to expand on your favorite local/regional place.

Back in high school, it was definetely Steak N' Shake, and everyone has some some hilarious Jimmy John's experience, but its gotta be Mother Bear's Pizza in Bloomington for me. Munchie Madness for ten bucks is an amazing deal. Plus delivery!

Awesome idea.

In Indiana, my favorte regional place is by far Rosco's Tacos in Greenwood. If you like Tacos at all and have never been there I strongly reccomend checking it out. It's nothing close to authentic Mexican food but all of their stuff is incredibly fresh and they make their own hotsauces that you can't get anywhere else. The Texas Brushfire suace is the best IMHO.

BW3's anywhere in Central Indiana is good as well. Although I've never understood the value of watching any sports there.

When I lived in Amsterdam I realized that like most European cities, it was devoid of Mexican restaurants. However, in Amsterdam there is one amazing (although again, not authentic at all) Mexican Restaurant called Los Pilones. It is located in between Centraal and Leidseplein which are two huge landmarks in Amsterdam so if you are a tourist there it will be very easy to find. However, like everything else in Amsterdam, it is expensive as hell. I paid like Ruth's Chris prices for Tacos, Enchildas, and tequila. But I was so desperate for Mexican food I didn't care at the time.

If you go to a bar in Amsterdam, my favorite is Cafe Cuba. Plus you can have real Cuban rum & Cigars there.

I'll post DC too but I need to think a bit longer about that.

And all that stuff is open relatively late except for Rosco's, except Los Pilones for some reason is closed every Monday if I remember correctly.

My favorite Mexican place was La Bamba on Kirkwood in Bloomington, but it closed this past year like a week after I ate there for the last time. It was a very small place, but it had good atmosphere and all the walls had hilarious things written on them plus a ridiculous mural of Burritos playing basketball in Assembly Hall if I remember correctly. They also had homemade salsas which were pretty good.
It was cheap, open late, and pretty quick, as well as not being awful tasting. However, they usually only had like one dude working back there, and at times he could get backed up especially if he didn't understand what someone was ordering.
I heard they might be opening it back up and I hope they do.
There are a couple in Indy, like in BRipple, but I don't know if they have the salsas the one in Btown had.

If your in LA go to Canters. Great pickles. Great rubens.

My most common late night snack event is at home while previewing a movie to say whether my kids can watch it. And ice cream is the most likely choice. A big dish of ice cream with caramel syrp and Golden Crisp cereal all over the top of it.

I almost never eat fast food. When I do, it is Sliders.

They slide right in, and they slide right out.

Lets see, in the past, I've had a friend pass out ordering white castle right on the counter, and I've had other friends take nearly 45 minutes deciding whether or not they wanted pepperjack cheese.

Is there a story to tell?

Is there a story to tell?

Thats pretty much it. He was in line to order and he laid his head down on the counter and didn't wake up when it was his turn to order. We let him stay there for like the next half hour to forty minutes while we ate.

Also, if I were a police officer I would breathalyze every person pulling in and out of White Castle after midnight on a weekend just on principle.

Taco Bell for me.

Here in Muncie it's routine for people to pass out in the McDonalds or Taco Bell drive through. If they're lucky they don't call the cops on them, but you still see someone get a DUI from it every other month or so.

That's got to be annoying if you're behind them.

As I get older, any food eaten after around 9:00 is late night for me

Pizza rolls because you aren't going to get a DWI on you're way to the freezer.

Definately.

I don't know why, but I totally spaced my usual. At Ball State we have two street vendors out. Carter's Hot Dogs and Greeks Pizza. I usually go for Carter's because they're out of this world good. It's not uncommon to wait 40mins in line for him.

Pita Pit is right around the corner, but I'm not big on pitas.

Looking at your avatar there it doesn't look like either one of you has been doing much late night eating.

I only wish I still looked like that....

That was a couple of years ago, before beer was something I only dreamed about. I try my hardest to take advantage of being a college student. Because once I graduate it will be called alcoholism.

A couple of years ago is nothing. Wait until it's a couple of decades ago.

I'm not overly picky about anything but I'll mention Hardees here since nobody else has. A Hardees Mushroom and Swiss hits the spot sometimes. Subway used to be higher on my latenight list but our local Subway doesn't stay open as late as it used to.

Taco Bell USED to be a regular stop for me coming in from a show in the box truck BUT the local one started closing the dining room earlier and just being drivethru only. A 24' Freightliner won't fit thru many drivethrus.

Steak and Shake has already been mentioned.... White Castles SOMETIMES.

I've cut back on McDonalds lately.

Now that I've typed and thought about it, I hit the same places whether it's night or day! ;)
