Dunno how to link it, but just saw a blurb stating that MILW is
expected to sign Bogut to a 5-yr, $72.5M extension later this
week.

Un-fricking-believable !

That's way too much. IMO, Bogut is overrated.

LOL.. that is so dumb! Bogut is, imo, a horrible player.. Well, I mean, not HORRIBLE, good enough to be on any NBA team, but really overrated.

Some of these damn GM's just never, ever learn. Dunno that it
impacts DG too much though as Bogut is a C which is a much
tougher slot to fill. But it sure as hell doesn't help.

Its a bit on the high side, but what is the going rate for 23yr old top 10 centers? ~12-13mil?

14.5mil average isn't Rashard Lewis insane.

He was 16 and 12 after the All Star Break.

$72 million over five years is still certainly pushing it, but he deserves $12 million per.

He is a great character guy.

Put up huge numbers at the end of last year.

Why stop there? Give him $20M under the table since he's such a solid character guy.

I Agree.

If turiaf gets the money per year his getting, andrew bogut should be getting more then LeBron.

Better than the Gadzuric or Tinsley deal...

I don't really find this deal that bad, 16-12 after the ASB at his age, with his teammates? That's a real good player. Got to remember he's a center, he's only touching the ball when his teammates get him looks, so it's not like he was spoonfed those 16 ala some of Amare's or something here.

I think he would be the most valuable player on our team, were he to magically join our roster.

I think the deal is fair. Dude rebounds, plays good D, finished the season in great form. I think he's beginning to find his feet in the NBA.

i suppose the logic behind this comes from the fact that he's a center.

Too much for what he's done so far but if they ever decide to run some plays for him then he'd probably average 18-20 and 10.
