ESPN's Andy Katz has reported that the Bulls will select Derrick Rose at #1.

Should be a crazy night...

I wish TNT was hosting the draft.

Bring on Ernie, Kenny, Charles, Magic and Reggie. They're so much better than these clowns it's not funny. I do like Bilas but Van Gundy and MJackson are horrible.

Tonight's ESPN team is already making me cringe.

ViperVisor
06-26-2008, 07:14 PM
NFL draft was lame for like 5 picks with having no drama as the pick was already set before the announcement

Coop
06-26-2008, 07:15 PM
Yes, the commentary is going to be awful. They havent talked about anything past the 5th pick in the last week. I don't know what the hell they're going to do when we get to the 2nd round.

Van Gundy is terrific.

Oh my god, Vitale and Scott and then now STEPHEN A SMITH! As soon as we finish hearing from these players I'm muting the damn thing. Just not worth it. My god.

However Mayo looks classy as hell tonight.

ajbry
06-26-2008, 07:18 PM
And as we're complaining about ESPN's broadcasters, they bring on air an interviewing tandem of Doris Burke and Stephen A. Smith...

Beasley needs an interview coach as well. Got to present yourself better than that if you want some good endorsement deals.

Coop
06-26-2008, 07:21 PM
OJ Mayo is about as smooth as it gets. He's going to do some great things in the L. He just has that presence.

ajbry
06-26-2008, 07:22 PM
And for the record, I think Mayo is going to have a decisively more accomplished NBA career than Rose. People have fallen in love with Rose and his overall athletic ability and his desire to win, but his tangible basketball skills are still very much a work in progress.

GO!!!!!
06-26-2008, 07:23 PM
It is rumored that Pat Riley wanted Rudy Gay, Michael Conley Jr and pick 5 in exchange for pick 2, but that is unlikely to happen. Chances are that the Heat remain at 2 and will take Beasley.

Is Pat smoking some stuff or what.. if he got Gay and Conley for # 2 that would be a decent trade in itself...

rousea24

Van Gundy is certainly not terrific. He claims Beasley is already a "Hall of Famer" in the making.

None of them really go out on a limb, I’d like to know which presenters actually spend time doing research them selves, Steven A likes to talk loud but he does talk to people in places, has Mark or Jeff actually watched a couple games of say Mayo to be able to convert some individual thoughts

Minny will probably take one of the guards.

I believe in taking the best available. Beasley is clearly the best player in this draft. Chicago was nuts for not taking him, and Miami is crazy for thinking about trading the pick.

Just because I didn't like the fact that he was a leader of his basketball team and instead of being a man and stepping up and lead his tem, he whined, threw a fit and staged a walk out with the other players.
