View Full Version : How do the GMs do last minute trades on draft night?

Just wondering about the mechanics.

I mean, when number ten is picked, and Bird decides he wants to do some kind of trade, or trade our pick, does some flunky run down the hall with a contract and a pen?

Or do the GM's just agree on the phone? Or do they record it? Or what?

With only five minutes to pull something off, it seems like it could get a little crazy.

I would assume they have them set up pre-draft if a certain player falls or doesn't fall.

He talked to Donnie there too....that's when we took Granger, right?

How far did Marcus Williams fall? I was thinking in the early 20's somewhere.

I wonder if there's any other videos out there like that. That was much more than I was expecting when I clicked on the video.

Pacers took Shawne Williams at 17 and Marcus Williams was taken at 22.

Oops, wrong year. Perhaps we should have traded Bryan the pick then.
