Mentions Speights shut down Alexander in a 3-on-3 workout and Mareese has dropped a lot of weight.

Alexander looks very impressive in some of the dunks.

pacers.com had interview videos with all the bigs we've worked out. not to sound spiteful, but i could barely understand a word speights said. he comes off as a box of rocks.

jordan and hibbert appeared to be pretty well spoken - i was impressed by their interviews.

Jordan sounds like he gets it. No offense to him, but Hibbert looked distracted and potentially lazy. But he has great size and stepped up against Oden. I suspect Jordan is the better pick for us...

...and unfortunately, an interview is not a good measure of a player's talent level at all.

Are you drafting him to teach an English class, or to play ball? The guy is a gamer, and if we pass on him, I'm thinking we'll regret it big time. Especially if we pass him over for Deandre Olowakandi. I liked Jordan at first, and maybe the Kandi-man reference is unwarranted. But I do think Speights will be the better pro.

A number of NBA veterans including Jermaine O'Neal, Mike Miller and Al Harrington have been joining a plethora of prospects including Joe Alexander (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2008&playerId=19096), Marreese Speights (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2008&playerId=19161), Richard Hendrix (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2008&playerId=18890), Malik Hairston (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2008&playerId=18842) and international mystery men Nathan Jawai (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2008&playerId=19225) and Giorgi Shermadini (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2008&playerId=19284).
I wonder if Speights matched up with JO at all. If so, I wonder how that went...

And Bird sounded how in college and most of the time in the pros? Why do you think he got referred to as "the hick from French Lick!"

Ability to speak, IQ, and playing BB don't always go hand in hand. I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water.

I'm not impressed with how Bird speaks as the Prez of the Pacers.

Speights shot a free-throw line pull-up jumper with his opposing hand. Interesting.

They both look good and powerful in this video.
