I read online about the storms that came through. Is everyone OK? Any damage?

Most of the worst stuff was south of where I live. A lounge chair ended up on our pool cover and may have damaged it, but otherwise most of it was south of me.

The lightning was really impressive though.

We were without power for 12 hours and our neighbors just due east of Castleton are
still out of power. Oaklandon was hit hard and is still without power as is my business.
I bought a 5000 watt generator to run my sump pump as my business basement was flooded.
Tomorrow I will probably be running the business on generator power.
Supposedly most of the power will be back Tuesday. The reason so many are out of power
is because of downed trees, blown transformers and substation problems.
Generators were flying out of the Lowes stores Saturday morning.

Passed north of us before running into Indy, no problems here except a limb from an old tulip tree that itself was larger than some trees I've seen. Took me a day to get it cut up with my wimpy little electric chain saw what desperately needs sharpening.

Well seeing as how I live about 2 minutes from all the apartments that were damaged on the eastside, Im pretty damn thankful My family, I and our things are still safe and intact

Whoever is running that apartment complex setup right now needs to get their act together IMO. Sounded like it was horribly unorganized on the news tonight.

A friend of mine emailed me and told me Channel 8 had reported 8,000 lightning strikes in a one hour period. 8,000!!!!!!! Can that be? He also told me the roof had been blown off his business showroom around Shadeland and Pendleton Pike.

I don't know how many of them there were but it seemed like they were all right outside my window.

A good amount of damage was done around Pendleton Pike and 38th and Post from what I could tell yesterday. Signs blown down, mailboxes blown off, trees in the street with torn-down power lines...I even saw a couple of trees that were completely uprooted, as well as a tree that broke off and got lodged in between the "t" of another tree. There was also a tree blown down in my neighborhood. Lots of businesses were closed due to loss of power.

I've never seen anything like it.

I got lucky as well. 6 miles south in Pendleton they got smacked pretty well, but here in Anderson it was just a bit of wind, rain and a light show.

I'm glad everyone is ok. I have never seen a lightning show quite like that before.

Ya, that's probably correct.. I was watchin the news and they pointed out that they were watching their cameras and it seemed a lighting bolt hit about every half second.. Two lightning strikes in one second.. Every second.. So ya, that's about right.

I was out on 38th and Post/Mitthoeffer/German Church, and the damage out that way was amazing. Did they say whether or not that was a tornado, or was that all straight line wind damage?

I used to live at 36th and post and that taco bell right there was messed up, but our house wasn't.

(would have been better if it had just messed up our house and no one else's. We had to leave cuz we had a series of break ins)

I am in Indy for the weekend and I too saw that report. It makes sense with a storm of that size.

I've seen more lightning, but it was fun to see (and refreshing..I've seen lightning three times in two years in LA). And, of course, it's good there weren't more serious injuries.

I lived at 38th and Post just a few months ago. Glad I finally got out of there.

I live right near Pendleton, between Fortville and Ingalls.

Looks like the storm tried to find me, but missed.

We live at 30th and Cumberland. We had lots of wind, rain, and lightning, but absolutely no permanent damage, and our house is less than a mile south of the tornado's path. We could tell there was freaky stuff going on though and we did hear the rumble so often associated with twisters. We saw some absolutely jaw dropping lightning though. Very thick bolts hitting everywhere, in all directions, as far as you could see. I haven't seen lightning like that in at least 20 years.

Nothing hit us all the way down here in South Central Indiana.
I live in between Louisville and Indy, both cities are pretty much the same driving distance down here.
It got really cloudy, and it thundered a little bit. It carried on like that for 2 days actually but we didn't end up getting much of anything whatsoever.
& my car could have used a good wash.
Oh well.
