I never in a million years would have expected I'd say this.. but I think Reggie is the better commentator.

Really? I have trouble watching the games that Reggie is doing - I think that women on ESPN is better

I don't think either are all that great, but I'd rather listen to Mark any day. I get embarrassed listening to Reggie mispronounce and stumble over words.

I don't think I've ever seen anything as painful as when Reggie had his tv show back in the day.

I guess that's partly why it surprises me that I'm saying this.

Mark to me doesn't seem comfortable at all. As a result he says stupid things.

To me Reggie is fairly relaxed, confident but isn't overbearing.

Put me in the Reggie camp too. Mark is okay but he comes across a little too cocky for my taste. I like that Reggie is paired with Marv Albert which I think helps his case.

Doug Collins to me is the best in the biz with Hubie Brown a close second.

i like hubie brown and dick stockton. i absolutely can't stand doug collins. he is the consumate corporate puppet- always sucking up to the superstars and agreeing with every call they get in their favor no matter how terrible it was.

Jackson has ALWAYS seemed very cocky to me.

Mark is great.

Reggie is...um...a clutch shooter.

I find Reggie distracting, and occasionally embarrassing. Mark calls 'em down the middle and works well with some of the good color commentators. He blends well.

Mark Jackson seems condescending. Reggie's more easy-going and makes light of a lot of situations.

I'm not saying Reggie has a better voice, it's just Mark's drives me up a wall.

I don't know why but I can't stand to actually hear it. I also think he uses too many cliche phrases, and often times gets stuck on using one particular slang term over and over.

If I hear him say 'cup' twice in a row, I might throw my remote through the screen. Just mix it up!

Hubie Brown has been my favorite since the early 90's. I've always said that he has taught me more about basketball than anyone.

Next I like Jeff Van Gundy. He points things out that I miss all the time.

And then Doug Collins.

After those three, I really don't like too many of the color guys. Although Jon Barry when they let him out of the studio - he is good also. If mark Jackson gets a coahcing job, I hope they move Jon Barry alongside JVG and Mike Breen

I agree that Dorris Burke is better than both of them.

Hubie is the best. Everyone else pales in comparison. I don't mind Doug Collins except for when he is CONSTANTLY bringing up when he used to coach. (If he was any good he'd still have a job.)

I think Doris Burke is very good, although I know most people don't like her. Reggie does well when he doesn't butcher the English language. Mark. I can't even listen to Mark. I don't know how much of it is he's always paired with Jeff Van Gundy. Those two irritate me so much I think I might rather listen to Bill Walton.

Doug Collins starts off every game "We don't want sloppy basketball" "That was a sloppy play" "Now, you don't want to get sloppy here" lol

I like Hubie Brown and Marv. Reggie does a great job, he brings up Indiana a lot tho

I think that woman is pretty darn good, too. But my vote is with Doug Collins as the best. Sharp as heck.

Regarding Reggie, he was pretty rusty at first, but I've enjoyed his commentary the last couple of games.

Whenever this debate pops up I always mention Clark Kellogg. He's absolutely my favorite basketball announcer to listen to. I'd really like to see him hookup with one of the major networks to do NBA games all the time but his NCAA gig with CBS is just too sweet to mess with.

I like Clark too, he would go on my favorites list. Reggie too, because he refers to the Pacers a lot. Doug Collins is my favorite and has been for years.

I don't care for Hubie Brown because he's a non stop talker, and he often gets plays wrong.

its gotta be Bill Walton all the way - as long as you got your sarcasm detector on and are not looking for "inside b-ball knowledge"

Hubie is a wiz at relaying great knowledge to the fan base.

Collins can get annoying. I like JVG, but not as much as Barry. I agree they should let him do more.

I can't watch another ESPN draft coverage where they show Stephen A. Smith, Dick Vitale, And Stuart Scott in the same time slot. That was by far the worst ever. All they had to do was put Bill Walton on and I would have given up on the NBA.

Mark's commentary sounds cliche and regimented. The banter between JVG and Mark is good though. I can't stand Hubie Brown as a broadcaster because with him it sounds more like a basketball sermon.

I like Reggie, Doug and Marv. The Western Conference finals should be good with them three. Doug Collins ability to anticipate what coaches should and will do is uncanny.

I think Reggie must be considered good in broadcasting circles because he replaced Steve Kerr on TNT's main broadcast team in his 2nd or 3rd year with TNT.

It pains me to say this, but I don't really like either of them as an announcer.

Reggie just seems to get lost at times, and Jax has some Walton-esque moments at times.

Jackson has way too many moments of silence (JVG does too, for that matter), which is one of my pet peeves of announcing.

I miss Kerr and the TNT crew he was usually with.

hubie brown kills me because as great of knowledge he has about the game, he never disagrees with the referees call...even if its obvious the ref was wrong. Its so annoying, watch him next time and you'll pick it up. coming from a former coach it just kills me he never argues the call
