Nope. I haven't gotten mine. But one of my co-workers did today, and that is the first person I've heard getting theirs. So I thought we could have a thread for people to :dance:a bit when their checks arrive.

Mine ends in 88 and they direct deposited it today. $1800, all of it spent already to pay down a little high interest debt.

$1800 ? Wow. How much is it per kid. Maybe I need to get a couple of those.

My SS# ends 55 - when should I get my check.

$300 per child younger than 17.

I thought I was due for $2400, but they told me I'd only get $2,100 because the oldest turned 18 in January.

I'm still claimed as a dependent, but I still did my own taxes. Do I get one?

Not sure, but it sounds like your family is double-dipping, I'm contacting the IRS.

I received $600 early this week. I've already put it to very good use (i.e. I spent it already).

i have what could be termed a "crushing mountain of debt" so naturally the $600 will be going towards distracting myself from the "crushing mountain of debt"

We got ours today. We are holding it back to cover rent and bills this summer.

I'll probably be the last person on the planet to get mine. My SS# ends with 99. No joke. :(

The wife and I got $1200 of our own money back from the gov't. I bought a pair of dress shoes, a pair of casual shoes, and a pair of running shoes and some new clothes. She bought some clothes and a handbag. I'm spending some of it on a tattoo and a game for the Wii. If there is anything left, she is going to do something with it.

We have no debt so its not a big deal if we save it, I guess.

I'm wondering the same thing as I'm the same way. Does how much you make play into it, or is this the same for everyone except for marital/family status?

You will be getting $600 as long as you paid taxes, filed your taxes on time and I think made over $3000. I think......

Here is when the checks will supposedly be sent for those opting for a paper check (like myself):

00 through 09, May 16
10 through 18, May 23
19 through 25, May 30
26 through 38, June 6
39 through 51, June 13
52 through 63, June 20
64 through 75, June 27
76 through 87, July 4
88 through 99, July 11

Here is an online calculator that will estimate what your return should be:

http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/

I'm only getting back $300.

And when will the refund checks be dispersed for those who are paid illegally?

YOU'RE MINE NOW, BUCK.

Don't worry Suave - he'll never get to his phone in time to call the IRS.

You should get $600 back unless you made over I think it's $75,000 last year, then you get less. Something like that. At least that's what the paper said they sent me about a month ago explaining that I was eligible.

Shade must be livin large. ;)

I've had mine back for about a week now.

YOU HEAR THAT BUCK? You'll be sorry. So sorry.

So does this take into consideration your salary from Jan 07 to Dec 07?

I'm thoroughly pissed.

We're getting $1800 for being married with two kids. I checked the IRS website weeks ago and given our last two SS# digits, it stated May 16th for our direct deposit, since that is what we chose when filing regular taxes.
YESTERDAY, they added another disclaimer at the IRS site that stated if you chose direct deposit, but had filing costs or other costs deducted from your refund, you would have to get a check.
*******S.

I had plans for that money this weekend, and now I have to wait until July 11th, all because I used TurboTax and chose to have the filing fee taken out of the refund instead of paying the fee with a credit card?

Standard "our government at work" story.

So much for having a great weekend...
