and we had selected Derrick Rose, would you trade him along with Tinsley to NY if you were getting back Bayless, Malik Rose (expiring contract), and David Lee?

Not a chance.

As much as I like Lee, I'd say no.

In the slim chance that we even get Rose's pick, no chance in hell.

Not a chance in he11. Tinsley packaged for a nice peanut butter sandwich would be what I would expect.

This has the potential to be the most lopsided poll in PD history. 11-0 already.

Too bad Danny Granger is already a Pacer, otherwise I'd trade the pick for him.

This could only go down if Donnie has blackmail material of Bird going down on Boomer.

Wow, nobody's being contrary yet. Isn't there some Bayless fanboy around here somewhere?

I almost wish I'd said yes just to be that guy

The problem isn't Bayless, the problem is that you don't need the improvement Lee brings enough to take the drop in star potential going from Rose to Bayless.

If instead of Lee you were bringing a SG of similar impact, a shooter instead of a rebounder, young, team player, then I'd do this deal and fix two problems pretty well rather than fixing one perfectly.

Can't give up a talent like Rose.. Even though I do believe Bayless will be very good as well.

I was throwing things around in my head and I talked myself into posting this idea to see what y'all thought...

Reasoning is that Bayless is a slightly better outside shooter, but I don't deny that Rose is at another level in true PG skills.

That being said, I tried to figure out a trade partner and targeted NY due to the Walsh connection and their need for a PG as well as an expiring contract to dump Tinsley and a good young post player with talent and high bball IQ (Lee).

With keeping Diogu in the trade, I imagined a follow-up trade to get a SG... maybe a Dorrell Wright, Morris Almond, Francisco Garcia for Ike or Webster from Portland for Shawne Williams...

With Lee on board, I'd slide JO over to C for...

1 Bayless
2 Dunleavy
3 Granger
4 Lee
5 JO

With backup PG Diener, backup wing Daniels/Graham, and backup post Foster/Murphy. Mind you Daniels and Foster are potential trade bait as well as JO in the near future...

I'd have put this on the trade proposals site, but it doesn't get enough reaction or internet traffic.

Thanks y'all for letting me know that I'm FOS!

what's the point of this thread?

To demonstrate how much more we collectively value Rose over Bayless.

What's the point of this post? How's Detroit's mental toughness doing?

what's the point of this thread?

For the purpose of discussion. It has as much merit as comparing Granger to one of the ghosts of the past (http://www.pacersdigest.com/apache2-default/showthread.php?t=39105).

That starting lineup with Bayless and Lee is nice, but you could get A TON MORE for Derrick Rose than that pkg.

It's a given that Bayless is the next great guard, and Rose will be a bust now.

wow.... 53-1.
thats ridiculous but apparently everyone feels the same. rose is the truth man, hes dirty good. thats a given. you don't trade that kind of talent away, especially at the PG position
