This is an interesting choice. I need to think about this a little bit.

All good candidate's! I think I nominated at least of eight of them myself. Thunderbird got my vote because when I chart his adaptation numbers, his adds up to more than the other guys.

I'm starting to think we need to name this award after thunderbird1245 so there's actually some competition. Seriously.

i voted rcarey because A) i'm remarkably contrarian and B) i went to see kids in the hall saturday and i'm very pro-canadian at the moment

I almost voted for tbird because the dude's brilliant, but then I realized that I actually agree with Seth's suggestions on bball stuff more often than tbird. And obviously lining up with my opinions is the metric for being a good coach. :)

Contrarian is not a strong enough word to describe voting for me.

I'm like the answer for a question on a grade 3 English quiz: "Which one doesn't belong?" And it'd likely be the 'gimme' question on the test, along with writing your name correctly at the top of the page.

Seth. The frequency and clarity of his basketball input got my vote.

I've said for years that K doesn't get enough credit for his knowledge. Glad he finally got nominated.

I hit nap on accident.

In fact, rarely do agree with him. However, I'll give him my vote this year.

Went with TBird but I agree that K doesn't get enough credit. Of course some of that is more general knowledge than coaching specific, maybe Arm Chair GM for Kstat.

Actually Buck is really close too, I could almost flip my vote if I hadn't already logged it.

I think thunderbird could run the Pacers, seriously. This award should be named after him.

I'd give rcarey my 'Canadian who'd be fun to drink a few beers with' award.

One point of praise for thunderbird1245 is that I have no idea of any of his personal feelings. His posts are methodical and dispassionate. He doesn't talk about what he likes, but what he knows will work. And he know a lot.

He's been criticized from time to time for going into too much detail. But it is good for us to remember that that level of detail is what the players have to deal in. That is the reality of the game.

I'd give you the award, too, newms....I'm not limited to one beer award per year.

None of those drinks with the funny names, though.

It's not tbird's fault that I don't know him. But I have talked with Peck and know how he relates to people and that is a very important part of being a good coach. Knowledge plus that ability earns my vote.

Two at the same time! Congratulations!

I wanted to send a great big thank you to all that voted for me, and to everyone who reads my occasional writings. Participating on this board is alot of fun, and I always appreciate and value all the feedback I get about what I've written about.

I also want to thank all of you who have posted so many nice things about me in this thread and in others throughout the time I have been a member here. This remains in my opinion one of the best, most informative, and passionate sites on the web, and I am really glad such a forum like it exists.

Being able to express my love of the game and our franchise to all of you who appreciate it is a really wonderful experience.

I'm curious about the gown he was wearing as he accepted his award. Did it show ALL of his tatoos?

J/K Tbird...congrats.
