The full results should be out later today. It'll be interesting to see where Dunleavy and Granger finished.

I'm hoping that Dunleavy at least gets a nod or vote here.

Dunleavy has to be top-5. The only players I can think of that could go ahead of him are Hedo, Kaman, Gay, and Aldridge.

Dunleavy finished sixth. Granger was last or next to last among those getting votes. It's on NBA.com.

What I'd like to see is Granger improve enough to win it next year.

He was 20/6/2 1+ block and steal this year. He'd have to blossom into a full-fledged superstar to win MIP next season. 25/7/3 type numbers.

This shows how stupid the award voters are for the most part. Hedo deserved to win for sure, but I have a problem with Rudy Gay, Lamarcus Aldridge, Rajon Rondo and other 2nd and 3rd year players getting substantial votes. Its not like we said any of these guys were garbage before this season, they're SUPPOSED to improve going from rookies to 2nd year. Guys like Turkoglu, Al Jefferson, Dunleavy have been in the league a number of seasons and especially for Hedo and Mike, it was assumed their ceiling was already reached really.

I read somewhere, I don't remember so no link, that the league was pushing for this to go to younger players. I could be wrong though.

That's such a stupid idea by the NBA. MIP should be a feel good comeback award for a vet who up to that point had not reached his expectations and then finally began to blossom into a force. It should not be for a second-year player who was an early pick in the draft and thus is EXPECTED to be a good player. LaMarcus Aldridge was like the second or third player picked in the draft and had a pretty good rookie season. He was EXPECTED to improve this year. Who woulda thunk it that Hedo or Mike would have improved?

This is just a ploy by the NBA to counter the seemingly thousands of busts in the draft every year because people are drafting crappy college players with no fundamentals and 7'7'' guys from Kazakhstan based on potential. They just want to use this award for P.R. purposes to show that not every draft pick busts. It's a bunch of B.S.
