ugly game, so many stupid turnovers. Got the win though. We should have blown this team out...

we lost control there at the end but still got the win, all is forgiven. imagine now if the hawks hadn't stolen that game form the raps, it'd look a lot different.

dunleavy, solid as usual. look at that though, we only went 8 deep lol wow...

See my post in Buck's "What don't you like" thread.

Missed the game, but the box is ugly. Hopefully our next game against them we blow them out.

Somehow the title of this thread does not encourage me all that much. I'd prefer the lottery pick myself. :/

I would really like to see what Stephan Graham could do with Marquis Daniels minutes. Maybe we are trying to showcase him or something, but I am really sick of him too.

While I still want to win every game from here on out and try to make the playoffs, I am not so keen on limiting the rotation to 8.

I would almost try to play all 12 if I could, maybe at less critical points in the game. I think it is of utmost importance that a few guys get some game experience if they are going to be with us again next year.

I want Ike to succeed even though I don't think that he will at his current rate. But I think it is important to get him out there and tell him to throw a few passes and play some defense.

Shawne Williams. Get him out there, and demand some organization from him. He's most likely going to be here next year, and it would be nice for him to get a taste of some quality mins as we shut this season down so that he has some game experience that he can think about in the offseason. Things that he will remember so that he can improve upon them.

David Harrison. I mean, he might not be here, but maybe just so he can man up to Andrew Bogut. Wasn't David really manhandling him in Orlando during the summer mini off-season league? Why not let him loose.

My 2 cents.

Despite my optimism in the magic number thread, I don't think you need to be concerned.

Given the pace that we play, I have always thought that JO'B would tire the finishers out by the time we reach the 4th QTR if we kept a 8 man rotation.

Adding in a player like Shawne and Harrison would make sense to thin out the Big Man rotation as well as the GF rotation so that our Finishers aren't worn out by the 4th QTR.

I guarantee that fatigue is a factor for players like Granger, JONeal, Murphy, Diener, Foster and Dunleavy which IMHO could explain why we always seem to hit a slump in the 2nd half.

I would really like to see what Stephan Graham could do with Rush's minutes. Maybe we are trying to showcase him or something, but I am really sick of him too.
Fixed to fit my version....I don't disagree with yours though. :)
And Rush didn't even get Rush's minutes tonight. I was happy to see that because he's been awful lately IMO. The defensive edge we had discussed earlier in the year is totally gone, thus Quis seeing 20 instead.

Ike at least gets peeks, goes right into the same habits and huge defensive lapses, gets yanked for it. Graham doesn't appear to make huge mental errors on defense and on offense looks really solid.

Late in the year I could see "hiding" him on the bench if you facing a contract situation, but other than that I don't get it. Plus I though they wanted to win and as far as I can tell so far Graham does that. I'll be happy to concede that he's useless...just let me see it happen first. ;)

Go figure. Okay, (grin) O'B wasn't with the team then so how would he know that?

As for the Hawks losing to Philly that was somewhat of a surprise to me being the game was at Atlanta. They play Philly again Saturday at Philly and that was the game I thought they would lose. If Philly wins again that will surprise me.

Here's what I predicted elsewhere.

INDIANA 31-44

Fri 04 @ Milwaukee......... W
Sun 06 vs Milwaukee....... W Questionable, beating the same team back to back is hard
Tue 08 vs Atlanta............ W MUST WIN FOR TIE BREAK
Fri 11 @ Philadelphia........ W Questionable, it's at Philly
Sat 12 vs Charlotte ..........W
Mon 14 @ Washington..... W Questionable, it's at Washington
Wed 16 vs New York....... W

ATLANTA 35-40

Fri 04 vs Philadelphia..... W
Sat 05 @ Philadelphia......L It's back to back and at Philly
Tue 08 @ Indiana........... L
Fri 11 @ New York .........W
Sat 12 vs Boston............ L Questionable, Boston is now resting it's starters
Tue 15 vs Orlando......... W Van Gundy doesn't like Ind, watch him rest his starters
Wed 16 @ Miami........... W

One thing that I like. If the Hawks lose to Philly again Saturday the Pacers will know they can make up another game Sunday when they play Milwaukee again. A lot more incentive!

As someone who vastly prefers an optimal draft slot to making
the playoffs, I'm starting to get concerned. A win at home vs
MILW while ATL loses @PHIL and then a win at home vs ATL
and the Pacers are 1 game back with the tiebraker advantage
and 4 games to go. At that point, anything can happen.

I can't understand what there up to...common as a player you have to look to next year as well...do they want to be in the same situation...it is more than likely that Tins and JO will miss most of next season due to injuries...

let us tank, get a high pick, let Indianpolis get excited about the high pick and let them come to see the game....nothing but advantages

however i think it's to late for that ....we ll end ninth...worst place...same crap next season

it is a mistery to me how this team can end up in ninth place with the basketball they played overall during this season..it really is

No such thing as a team deliberately losing and in the next season turning around an attendance problem.

No draft pick is going to win back fans, not even EG. We need early veterans with talent. Big names. That will fill the seats. Not a draft pick.

No such thing as a team deliberately losing and in the next season turning around an attendance problem.

No draft pick is going to win back fans, not even EG. We need early veterans with talent. Big names. That will fill the seats. Not a draft pick.

Where exactly are the Pacers going to find "early veterans with talent"....I'm not even sure what "early veterans" even means. The P's are not an attractive destination for FA's so any quality additions must come through either trades or the draft. The core of our 90's teams was built through the draft (Miller, Smits, Davis) so it's not like you can act like the draft won't help the Pacers.

i think once a small market team in the midwest like Indiana builds through the draft, then it becomes a better destination for free agents, similar to Byron Scott, Sam Perkins and some of the other folks who at least tried out for the pacers in the off season.

We used to get lots of bigger name college kids who didn't get drafted through our tryouts...

We won't see that same caliber player here though for a few years until we raise the caliber of the program. Until then, our free agent signings will continue to be long shot players who we hope turn out good, and sometimes those players DO turn out good. Adrian Griffin was a guy we had in camp a few years ago, we lost him to Boston or Dallas I think, but that is the type of guy we might hope for.

ATL wins tonight, sweeping Philly in a back to back. They are a young, fun team to watch that should at least provide an interesting challenge for Boston....for a couple of quarters. But I like watching young teams play giants like the Celtics in the playoffs just to see what happens, to see the next generation of really good players.

I hate to rag on my own team, but I think Atlanta would be a more interesting team to watch lose to the Celtics than the Pacers, and I'd rather have us have the 12th rather than the 15th pick, that could mean the difference between us getting Westbrook or not. And to those who say that it doesn't matter if you have pick 12 or pick 15, if we get pick 15 and don't get Westbrook and he becomes a good player, I'll never let you forget it.
