Saw a post like this on RealGM and thought it was an interesting concept:

If you could cross this roster with any other 1 team in the league, which team would it be, and who would you cut to keep the roster at 15?

There are many teams that come to mind, but one that's sticking out right now is Sacramento.

Drop Johnson and Anderson, pick up Bibby and Jackson

Pollard and Brezec for Miller and Divac ;)

Bender for Stojackovic :D

Okay, I'd combine the Pacers with Greenwood HS's team from long ago.

I'd cut Brewer and pick up...

MYSELF!!! :P

Oh, you want a serious answer... we need shooting so I'd either pick the Kings so I could get Peja and Bobby Jackson or the Soncis so I could get Ray Allen and Brent Barry.

I'd have no problem cutting Pollard and Brewer or James Jones to pull that off...

I would combine with the Spurs.

O'Neal
Harrington
Artest
R. Miller
Tinsley
Foster
Bender
F. Jones

Duncan
Horry
Bowen
Ginobili
Parker
Rose
Turkoglu

Those would be my choices.

call me Mr. Obvious if you want, but I think an healthy trio of Shaq, Kobe, and Gary Payton would complement our guys quite well.

Kobe-Reggie might create some chemistry issues, especially with Reggie's demotion to backup, but it might work out.

The only problem is I wouldn't LIKE the team much anymore.

If you want a very good team that I like, I can't do better than to add Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, and Turkoglu to the Pacer mix.

Add those 4 and delete Kenny, Scot, Primoz, and Jamison and then we would do quite nicely.

Adding in the Spurs stars probably means less legal issues as well.

:D

In the same vein lets do this. You are the coach. You have to combine the below two teams into one. You need to pick a fifteen man roster. You need an eight or nine man rotation, no more no less, and you need to name the starters. Your team is going to play a squad composed of San Antonio and Sacramento. I'm Danny Ainges, if you don't do it my way you won't be coaching!

If you bring Travis back I'm cheering for the combined Sacremento/ San Antonio team. I don't want another ulcer even if he is third string. :D

Well, if you don't like it you'll have to pick your own team! <grin>

The three best big men in the game that aren't named Jermaine are Shaq, Garnett, and Duncan. I think you'd have to go with the Lakers, Wolves, or Spurs, just because you'd be so dominant inside. Of course, if we merged with the Lakers I'd have to stop watching my team.

I'd probably go with the Spurs, and take Duncan, Ginobli, and Parker.

Rotation:
Duncan - Foster
JO - Al
Artest - Al
Miller - Ginobli
Tinsley - Parker

Spot minutes:
Nesto
F.Jones
Bowen

But it would be fun to merge with the Wolves, as well:

JO - Foster
Garnett - Al
Artest - Wally
Sprewell - Reggie
Cassell - Tinsley

A smaller frontline, and IMO not as good a team. But pairing JO and a healthy Artest with Garnett or Duncan would be wicked.

actually, i rather like the dallas suggestion. at first i thought the defense would suffer horribly, but on second thought, finley and nash are pretty decent individual defenders and would probably be an improvement defense-wise over miller and tinsley. nowitzki... well, he can score a bundle ;)

i wouldn't take walker though. i would just keep dirk, finley, nash, jamison, and delk from dallas. cut james jones, aj, kenny, brewer, and brezec.

the san antonio suggestion is good too, probably the best other than getting healthy shaq and innocent kobe

The Lakers, without a doubt:

C - Shaq/Foster/Slava
PF - JO/Malone/Bender
SF - Artest/Al/George
SG - Kobe/Reggie/Jones
PG - Payton/Tinsley/Fisher

PF - JO/Malone/Bender

I laugh out loud whenever I see Bender's name and PF in the same sentence.

With that roster, it's by default. There's nobody better to plug in there, and more proven players play the other positions.
