Does anyone have anyone experiences with this that they'd like to share?

I'm on penicillin for ten days and then I'm going to back to my ENT and see if the tonsils need to go.

I'm mostly worried about my girlfriend getting this too. So far she's been ok but I'm really worried that she's gonna get sick sometime soon. Anybody have any similar issues to this?

Dump her and give her my number...everyone will be happier that way.

Gargle with salt water might help too.
A little hot tea with lemon,

I know years ago they used to take them out routinely.

My brother had his out as a kid.

I don't think they do that as much any more. I'm not sure medically what changed but they decided we need the tonsils more than they used to think we did.

Now they pretty much let you suffer.

I have a sore throat today too so this thread jumped out at me. Strep sucks. I just hope I don't get that.

Tonsilitis is something that you get if you have a history of stuff like strept throat for the most part. Thats what they told my dad at least when he had to have his out like 11-12 years ago.

Don't have any answers, but I hope you feel better soon, Rex.

The antibiotics have been helping me out. Thanks for the comments, guys. I have been gargling saltwater too - that's been helping me out as well.

If this pain isn't gone by next Monday, I'm getting them out.

Hope everything comes out OK, so to speak. Mine have been gone since 2nd grade, 1959...haven't missed 'em.

Why haven't we heard about any female tonsils you have violated lately?

Are you losing your touch man.

Sounds like you need a nurse.

I had my tonsils out back in 2nd grade.
About 8 years ago. Unfortunately after that I didn't feel like eating, so I got dehydrated so I stayed in the hospital for another week.

But on a good note, everything has been fine since I had them out. :)
