ESPN classic is showing classic NBA Finals games.

Right now they are showing game #1 1995 Magic and Rockets.

Next is supposed to be Pacers v Lakers game #4, OT, Kobe takes over Reggie misses shot at end.

What a coincidence. I'm going to be placing a copy of that same game (2000 Game 4 vs LA) on able's ftp in a few days.

Travis Best was good!

Oh, be careful who you say that to around here. Some people on here think all he ever did was dribble into a shot-clock violation on every possesion.

Personally, I was impressed with Rik. That was a great first quarter. Too bad Bavetta, Javie, and Nunn had to give him so many ticky-tacks.

I'm curious; is the work I'm doing to rip and convert and upload game 4 worth it? Is anyone actually interested in watching this? :(

Personally, I'd love to have a copy of it. Best game I've ever seen in person. Maybe I could get one of you photoshop guys to make Reggie's shot go in at the end, and it'd be all good. :chuckle:

[edit]Also, you could send a copy to Dan Patrick of proof positive of how ref's playing favorites affects a game and series. :unimpressed:

Kegboy, are you referring to calls on Shaq? Because I watched this game the other game, and once he picked up foul #5 looked to nitpick him, but I don't remember seeing anything that was blatantly a foul on him until he got his 6th. Maybe I need to look again. :whoknows:

Yes, but my biggest problem hasn't necessarily been that he didn't foul out until overtime, but all the fouls piled on the Pacers in the meantime, especially on Dale. Granted, some of them were hacks, but some (like on A.C.) were pretty ticky-tack. It just goes back to what Hue Hollins said on DP this week, that they'll look to give the stars leeway in the big games and clutch situations, but not the role players. :unimpressed:

How great was Reggie. Jeez. So depressing watching him after I see games like this.

He really doesn't contribute in anywhere near the way he did just a few years ago.

Yeah, but I don't think it's entirely because he cannot. He hasn't had to. This is a different team.

I've felt for a while that argument was crap. If he doesn't have to show up consistantly in the ECF, when DOES he have to show up? The trophy ceremony?

Hmmm that is sig material..... I anxiously await a comeback because I think Hicks just made a very good point.

Reggie is still a valuable player on the Pacers roster. I expect him to come off the bench next season by his own choosing. Of course he is no where as good as he was in 2000, that was 4 years ago, a few injuries ago, ankle surgery ago.
