I cant live with the possiblity of Reggie coming back next year. Im pleading for the sake of the team. He is not helping us progress whatsoever. I hope that he does the noble thing to do and retire. I commend Reg for all the boundless and clutch shooting he has given us over the years, but simply time for him to go. He will be payed for the next year anyway. If he cares so much about the franchise, he needs to be involved with the management of the players. Alot of fans may disagree with me, but im just calling it like i see it. Please call it quits REGGIE for the sake of the franchise.

I'd like to see Reggie come off the bench next year...

He won't retire this off-season.

I don't agree what-so-ever that he is holding this team or the players back. Freddie was not ready to start this season for sure. His work ethic has been and will continue to be a great example for this team

He can teach work ethic and he has all the clips in the world to show examples. I guess people are Reggie Miller fans and not PACERS fans. We are holding a roster spot because he is Reggie. His Uniform will hang from the ceiling. We have to move on as a TEAM. One player doesnt make it.

Calling it quits is a little too much. Even though he is slow, he can still shoot. If we are down 2 on the road. I think Carlisle can make a play to get him free to hit a clutch shot. Jermaine in the clutch is still scary to me.

Well, Reggie signed a 3 year deal, and it might just be me, but I don't think he is the sort of person to back out of his contract.

Dukins, were you one of the people who thought Jordan wasn't good for the Wizards?

:peak: Guess I stuck my foot in my mouth on this one. I still am a firm believer he would do the team better by becoming something to do with the growth of players.

You guys think Reggie is GOD. :king:

I just think Reg's time is done. He needs to become something to do with the developement of players. I think he would be a good coach.

You guys think Reggie is GOD.

I think he's an adequate bench player/3-point specialist.

If that role is one he's not comfortable with, retirement should be in order. I'd agree with you if you added the words "as a starter" to the end of your 1st sentence in the thread:

I can't live with the possiblity of Reggie coming back next year as a starter.

Who else has done so much for this team & gotten so little back? I think he deserves all the praise in the world for his efforts.

I think he deserves all the respect in the world. He has gotten it. A few all star games, number one in free throw shooting, number 1 in three point shooting, clutch shooting, etc etc. He has done so much, but you cant hold on to something thats not there anymore.

According to Carlisle, he said Reggie will start next year if he comes back.

OMG see this is the stuff im talking about. Reggie is hindering other players opportunity. :wtf:

Do you think you would still say that if it were the night of Game 1 of the ECF this year, after he hit the big shot?

Reggie's time is done as a starter. I would love to see him as a bench player, spot specialist. H ecan no longer get open consistently and that is his game. He is too easy to defend now, and he is too easy to abuse on offensive end. Anyone that doesnt think Reggie killed us in that series against Detroit was nto watching. The only position we got truly outplayed at was SG. Period. If Reggie even scored half as much as Rip, we win that series. We need better guard play. I love Reggie and think he is an icon, but we will NOT win the ring with him as starter. It is time for indy fans to come to grips with that.

I disagree with some of your comments. On the offensive end, he still draws plenty of fouls on his man. I think it was a team failure, not Reggie failing the team in the ECF.

On the offensive end, he still draws plenty of fouls on his man.

This is another reason why its his time to go. Reggie hardly got any fouls that he normally gets. No one in the league really recognizes Reg anymore. Yea for his clutch shooting, other than that pretty much nonexistant. JO is now getting the phantom fouls that Reggie used to be able to get. Face it. Reggie is not helping if he cant average at least 10 -15 ppg. We need that from a shooting guard. Those few point s could have made the difference as close as the games were.

Reggie will ask to come off the bench, mark my words

Dukins

I would go for that, but who am i to see. You would think that Reg would have enough respect for what the pacers are trying to do and come off the bench. He still is a threat when he wants to be, but thats a big WHEN.

He better. This team cannot grow with him continuing to start.
