Here's an article with a nice little "sad state of the Pacers" lead from our boy BMill.

That is a poor title for this article. It is a jab at the Pacers by a poor reporter.

Brad Miller might still be partial to the team in his home state of Indiana, but the Kings' center was far from envious about its predicament.
Indiana fell to Miami on Saturday, breaking the Heat's league-long losing streak at 15 games in what was the latest blunder in an already rough season for the Pacers. So when the Kings barely avoided losing to Seattle on Sunday and thereby pushed the SuperSonics' losing streak to a franchise-record 14 games, Miller was quick with the sigh of relief.
"I'm just glad not to be the Indiana Pacers," he said. "Obviously, we needed this."

Obvisously he meant that he is glad that he did not lose to a team that has a double digit losing streak.

Ouch!

Reporters don't write headlines.

your right but I think it is misleading. Miller never said I am glad not to be an Indiana Pacer. He said I am glad we (as in the Kings) did not lose to a sucky team like the Pacers (it was close).

Fixed I believe. I don't think it was a comment on the Kings vs Pacers games but on each team's games vs the worst team in their own conference.

Still it's pretty sad when your team becomes the reference point for ineptitude.

But the headline and some of the article almost feels like "see, it's okay here, Brad doesn't want to leave for Indy, Sacto isn't really doing so bad". Sounds like a little chip regarding that situation.

Agreed. And that's news on a slow sports day. The headline works, IMO.

I wonder if there's ever been an article about Brad's long tenure with Ron, moreso than any other NBA player, would be my guess.

Would be an interesting read.

Brad has been EXTREMELY careful not to get drawn into a trap like that, as have a number of players on the team. The ticking just keeps getting louder - and the more savvy players already have their "safe corners" mapped out.

I deleted my comment since I saw that JayRedd had beaten me to it, but it's a common - and mistaken - complaint on our board. Our headline writers STINK big time and have, on occasion, totally misrepresented the contents of some articles, especially in sports. I get the early edition of the Bee and it's been hilarious more than once to see what the final edition looks like once people have started to object to the original inanity.

We Kings fans have to find our humor where we can right now. Our only real bright spot is Kevin Martin.
