Yea, but you see, we are supposed to be there now. That's what bums me out. We need to stop playing the youth card and start playing the game.

Nice, but it just feels empty right now.

At least when you have a fair season, you can be optimistic about improvement. Are we realistically supposed to improve on a 61-win regular season?

I don't know, but I'm sure we can add a few victories to our 10-6 playoff record.....

I suppose we could all be Miami Heat fans and be happy with a .500 season and a second round appearance. I'd rather be happy with a 61 win season and an ECF appearance.

And when I talk about the future, I'm not trying to play the youth card. There's nothing more to do about 2003-2004, so I look forward to 2004-2005.......

Shade, the 2000 NBA Champions won 67 times in the REGULAR season alone that year. Do you consider 2001 and 2002 NOT an improvement?

All I can think about is how many times Reggie, Rik, Mark and Dale went to the ECF before they got to the big one.

This team [under Rick Carlisle, I don't count the last three years as "this team"] has one trip to the ECF under their belts now. They'll be back.

Or we could be like the Lakers and not be happy with anything less than an NBA championship...
On one hand I'm satisfied with this season....we won 61 games...got the best record in the league...had a lot of individual sucess....and made the ECF....all while being very youthful... on the other hand I'm very disappointed. We won 61 games, far and away the best in the league, you need to follow that up with atleast a Finals appearance IMO.
Oh well, there's alsways next year....but then I think about how impatient I get when I have to wait 48 hours for thenext ECF game...and to think that its gonna be a full year to wait...it just gets me frustrated as hell.
Oh well :unimpressed:

A Pacemates picture or two from the archives might cheer everybody up a little ;)
