IU's Hardy opting for NFL draft

Star report
January 4, 2008

Indiana University record-breaking junior receiver James Hardy will skip his final season and enter the 2008 NFL draft, the school announced today.

Hardy said in a news release that he "reached the pinnacle of my college football career," this season.

Hardy broke several IU career and single-season receiving records this past season: career touchdowns (36), yards (2,740) and receptions (191) and single-season touchdowns (16) and receptions (79). He is the only receiver to surpass 2,500 career yards, 175 career receptions and 35 career touchdowns.

Anyone think he'd be a good pick for the Colts?

figured he would go pro... darnit!

Not sure where he'll end up. All depends on the combine... and wideout need.

And with that, IU will be back to mediocrity next season.

Hardy's still a little raw, but I think he'll be a solid NFL player. If the Colts are in a position to get him, they could do a lot worse.
