Heat Looking To Trade Parker

Smush Parker | Heat (http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=mia)
Smush Parker apparently has played his last game for the Heat.

Two sources familiar with the situation said Thursday the Heat is searching for trade options for the troubled point guard, who is eligible to be dealt starting Saturday.
"Obviously I work on Smush's behalf, and I want the best thing for my client," Billy Ceisler said. "If it's finding a new home, then that's what I want. "We've spoken about trying to get back to some sense of a good conclusion." -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basketball/heat/sfl-flspheatnote14sbdec14,0,4947820.story)

-----------

Smush makes $2.2 million this year with a player option for $2.4 million for next year.

He's a career 35% 3 pt. shooter who averaged 11 points in 30 minutes a game over the past two years with the Lakers.

Any interest?

troubled point guard

Splain please? I don't tend to closely follow the NBA outside of the Pacers as far as player issues go. Why is he troubled. Is he Artest troubled, or just not fitting in with the Heat. Last thing the Pacers need is player issues.

Well, we could use a backup PG, but I've just never been that impressed by Smush. He'll hit some treys, but he's not much of an on the ball defender or that great of a ballhandler in the traditional PG mold IMO.

Then add on the thing of him always seemingly wearing out his welcome and I doubt anything comes of this. I'd be more excited about getting Ruben Patterson's defense than much Smush could offer, but that's obviously not happening either for good reason.

Legal issues

Parker is currently the subject of a complaint lodged against him by a valet parker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valet_parking) who accused Parker of striking her after a dispute over a $12.00 parking fee. The female valet parking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valet_parking) attendant, 41 year old Yomara McKenzie, alleges that Smush Parker injured her left arm at a condo building at 355 Biscayne Blvd. The valet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valet_parking) could not find Parker's ticket even though Parker alleged that he had paid the $12 parking fee. A police report was generated and the matter is being investigated by the Miami (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miami) Police Dept. The valet attendant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valet_parking) alleges the altercation left severe scratches and possible nerve damage. McKenzie's personal injury attorney is planning to file civil suit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_suit) for assault and battery. The Miami Heat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miami_Heat) moved Parker to their inactive list while investigating the allegations.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smush_Parker#_note-4)

Smush is not a pg. He only is called that because he played next to Kobe at the other guard spot. Both Lamar and Kobe started the offense more than Smush.

Smush is awful, how he is still in the league is beyond me. No way we should sign him. He can't hit anything, his vision is horrible and the haircut thing.. like JayRedd mentioned. lol

Thanks mellifluous, I would hope Larry is smart enough not to sign this guy. Pacers need no more bad PR this century
