View Full Version : CRM Software - Anyone Have Any Experience?

Alright so I've been given the wonderful task of coming up with a proposal as to whether or not we should switch to using a CRM software.

Personally - I hate them - I see them as extra admin work with no rewards. Hence I feel a bit biased about it...which is why I come to you good folks at Pacers Digest in hopes that maybe some others have experiences using CRM and can tell me if they felt it was useful to them.

I am open to hearing any and all comments you might have regarding your experience with CRM softwares. :)

I've been dealing with Microsoft CRM 3.0 the last few months, and I think it's crap. I went to a Partner preview for 4.0, and it looks like they've solved a lot of issues, but, like any MS web-based software, it's slow and buggy as hell.

I'd look at salesforce.com or even ACT!, if you don't need anything too robust.

we have currently selected vTiger CRM. Its fast and open source. So far it has been performing well under tests.

Its more about implementation - to sell to the sales team as to why they should start using it that is giving me the troubles.
I'm in sales from time to time and I hate having to do the admin work that CRM requires - just doesn't bode well with my own "system".

Salesforce.com is soemthings that our company has used in the past. It seemed pretty decent.

Luckily, My company never sticks to any one thing long enough for us to know, so we've already moved on to the next thing one of our managers read in the latest book he found on the bargin bin in the book store....

Oh, implementation is a major pain here. The only reason anyone uses it is when the manager gets on them about it.

I have a final over stuff like this tomorrow morning. Apparently the book we have thinks CRM is the uber-dominator of business.

CRM is useful for companies with an inventory - we're in TV - we have no inventory...our solutions do not fit the mindset of CRM - which makes it weird to use CRM. Alas I've been tinkering around with it to create a turnkey solution with the software to eliminate extra BS

I get no breaks i tell yah....starting to feel like Rodney Dangerfield...
