View Full Version : Will Granger be suspended for Friday's game?

During the Murphy/Thomas "fight" I heard Quinn (sounding frustrated and disappointed) say something like, "Dang it, Danny." while the camera was showing the Pacers/Bulls crowd before Murph and Ty were ejected. I don't know why Quinn would say that unless Granger left the bench. Danny was not in the game at that time. Thoughts?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. He probably got off the bench. Hopefully he didn't step on the floor though. With Foster out and Murphy likely suspended, the last thing we need is to be another player short.

i heard the same thing had was wondering about it - had posted it on the game boards but no one else made a comment on it...hopefully there are no footage of Danny on the floor - and we can just get away with it?

Quinn stopped himself short--didn't want to provide more evidence of it.

Quinn said it ... then cut himself short. Buckner is close enough to the players that he may have been talking to or overhead by Granger.

Danny must have been on, or about to go on, the floor. Fortunately, the action was on the end away from the Pacer bench, and none of the live or replay video appeared to show the Pacer bench or anyone on the floor.

Still ... delete this thread.

I can tell you they did not because I had to watch their terrible broadcast because NBA League pass for this game was blacked out in my area.

From my seats, I didn't see any Pacers leave the bench area. However, I was not looking anywhere near the bench. So I could have missed it, but if someone obviously left the bench I think I probably would have seen it.

Mal, Gnome - were you guys at the game tonight??

Considering he's a Pacer I'd say it's pretty much a forgone conclusion that he'll get suspended. I'm sure Stern is looking for a reason to make it more than one game.

My wife had surgeory on Tuesday and was just released from the hospital today, so I sat tonight's game out to make sure that she was going to be ok since she's still a little groggy.

This is good news...

Thomas hopped off the floor and shoved Murphy in the face. Pacers forward Jermaine O'Neal held back Thomas, and the referees kept Murphy from going after Thomas. Pacers coach Jim O'Brien immediately rushed onto the court and assistant coach Frank Vogel stopped Danny Granger from leaving the bench, which would have led to a suspension. Thomas and Murphy were ejected. Murphy was unavailable for comment afterward.

The question is, in a fight between our two biggest thugs (Troy and Danny), who would win?

Neither of us were this time. I think we'll both be back on Friday, though.

I didn't get to see the game, so I don't know what the incident looked like, BUT.......

Didn't the league change the ruling on leaving the bench? I thought they put it on incident by incident basis? For some reason I think they did.

not that i'm aware of. stern continued to say that the rules committee or whatever discussed it in the off-season but felt the rule was important and crystal clear.

One thing that amazed me, in a good way, about the whole incident was O'Brien going out onto the floor and pulling Troy out of the fracus. You don't see many head coaches do this. Troy's reaction was telling as well. He was all hot and bothered and trying to get to Thomas, but when O'Brien grabbed him and Troy realized who it was, he settled right down and walk off the court.

Just one more reason to like O'Brien.

Not unlike Jeff Van Gundy, the leg humper? I've got two at home - they're not as well paid, but they're a lot cuter.
