9 wins right now. 15 games left to play. How many wins will we have at the end of the month?

The schedule isnt really that tough this month. Our toughest games are going to be Orlando, and Detroit at the end of the month which is a series of back to backs ending in Indy. I say we split with Detroit, lose to Orlando and drop another one somewhere in the month and end up picking up 10 more wins.

I voted without looking at the schedule (big mistake, but then again i wasn't feeling too life-and-death seriously when I thought about it) and went with 8 of 15.

I usually break things down by week:

Week 1(LAC, PHO, ORL): 1-2
Week 2(CLE, CHI, TOR, MIA): 2-2
Week 3(NY, PHI, MIN, WAS): 3-1
Week 4(ATL, DET, DET):2-1
Week 5(CHA, MEM, ATL):2-1

I just noticed that I actually included January's first two games. Oh well. Feel free to skewer me if you so desire.

I made a prediction after the mavs game that by the end of december we would wind up 2nd in our division a few games behind Pistons and 4th in the east. Also with O'Neal coming back and returning to 20/10 form. I know right now we're 2nd in the division but 4th in the east i'm not to sure about cause I think the wizards are still winning despite Arenas being gone cause Caron butler is having the games of his life and Jamison has been stepping up pretty big as well.

EDIT: as of this post we're tied for 6th in the East. A win tomorrow could move us up to 5th. If Toronto loses their upcoming game against Boston (likely) and we win against orlando we'd be in a 2 way tie for 4th in the east. I know it means absolutely nothing at this point in the season but as far as my predictions go I wanted to post this for future reference so I don't have to go back and look stuff up and just a general look at how we're fairing against other eastern teams at the moment.

Is there any team in the East that is better than us for sure outside of Detroit, Boston, and Orlando?

I honestly don't believe so, and Detroit and Orlando don't worry me that much.

crazy how things change within a span of month or two....
from discussions of being a lottery pick to being #4 in the East...
not a bad jump eh? ;)

As far as head to head match up goes - for some reason I feel that we have a better chance of beating Western Conference teams than the Eastern ones...but that is more of a gut feeling than anything else :)

Didnt Rick Carlisle say that we would challenge for 4th in the East this year.?
