I don't think I've heard his name mentioned since he went down with the injury. Has anybody heard anything on the timetable for his return?

I believe an article in today's Star mentioned Ike's return to hopefully be
sometime around Christmas.

Am really looking forward to him getting back and into the swing of things.

They had a quick bit with him during last night's game, and he said they were shooting for 2 weeks.

They said he's got the boot off and he's walking around. It sounded like he hasn't been cleared to run yet, but they did say he'd be back in 2 weeks.

So, figure by February?

that's a safe bet. knowing our training staff, they probably put the boot on the wrong foot and he'll be out another 4-6 weeks.

No, I figure he'll be back in a week, play a game, miss 3, play a game, miss 3, for the rest of the year.

Do you need a boot for a calf muscle tear? Or is that not what his injury was and I am recalling it wrong?

Yeah, that is weird. Here's Ike's take:

“I went up after a pump fake. I felt it pop and automatically knew something was wrong,” Diogu said. “I just got the boot off and we’re doing some stuff on the court and in the pool, but it’s still going to be a while.”

Diogu had scored in double figures in each of the first three games and enjoys playing for new coach Jim O’Brien. “During preseason, he told me what he expected and had a lot of confidence in me. I was having fun, showing people what I was capable of.”

Would you feel a pop if you had a slight tear in a calf muscle?

I thought they said he was doing light jogging but had no explosiveness. Said 2 weeks last night and he should be back.

Ushers, escort that man outside.

Now, are there any other questions?

Yes, depending on the extent of the tear. The "boot" or sometimes a walking cast, is necessary to keep the foot and ankle stable. The calf muscles are connected to the foot/ankle and any movement just aggravates it. I was in a walking cast for 5 weeks.

He was in such a nice grove, anytime he shot the ball I expected it to go in. I hope when he does come back he can get back in form, fast.
