CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Washington Wizards leading scorer Gilbert Arenas underwent surgery on his left knee on Wednesday and will miss about three months.

Arenas had been experiencing swelling and soreness in the knee which he had surgically repaired late last season. After sitting out the past two games, Arenas underwent an MRI Wednesday morning. He underwent the surgery later in the afternoon.
Team officials say the surgery was a success and Arenas will begin rehabilitation soon.
The 6-foot-4 Arenas is averaging 22.4 points

That hurts the Wiz.

not that portland and philly are "elite" but the wizards handled both of them in the last week without gil. they play GSW on friday so that might be a little better test. but i think they have a better shot than the pacers do at making the playoffs.

I voted no, but that's with the assumption that the Bulls will somehow remember how to play basketball.

Well, There goes my fantasy team.

Check to see if Bibby's available. He'll be coming around in a couple weeks.

But, yeah, major hit.

They still have Butler and Jamison. I think they're definitely in.

I don't know. Butler and Jamison are good, but I don't see them being able to keep it up for 3 months, even in the East. I could be wrong, but I just don't see it happening.

They're both 20ppg scorers, along with Butler being a great defender. Add in Haywood (averaging double-double this year) and Antonio Daniels and they still have a solid team.

BTW, Butler put up 39 tonight and Jamison had 27 and 12 in their win over Charlotte.

The Wiz have no shot without Hibachi. They went 2-11 after he went down last year, including a First Round sweep at the hands of a highly flawed Cleveland squad.

Why couldn't he have suffered this injury before the last game against the
Pacers?

I hope he has a nice looong comfy rehab.
