I'm loving the new look too.

The only suggestion I might have is can you make the PD logo with the wood background as well instead of the grey?

I don't understand? The only gray is the small ring that makes up the outermost layer of the PD logo. How would I replace that with hardwood?

*edit* Wait are you seeing gray all over where it says "pacers (logo) digest" ? It's a transparent background in .png format. On my current Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers it looks correct. Which browser are you using, and what version?

Thanks for the kind words, fellas!

In IE 6.0, the top looks like this:

Try 7.0 :-p

If I can find a way to make it work for all, I will, but get with the times, people! ;)

I'm at work, so don't blame me. Blame IT support. :D

I'll be using Firefox at home, so no problems there. Interesting change to the board.

Well the short term situation is I'm sticking with the .png format for now. I'd use .gif which has a transparency that works with older browsers too, but the problem is that when I save the file it adds these white pixels all around the logo and in bits and pieces around the letters, which makes it ugly and distracting. If I can solve that, I'll go back to .gif .

Does it look better now? I just applied what is "supposed to" fix the problem in IE6.

I dislike this look. Hurts the eyes, I preferred the older look. But since it is free and amazing regardless I am good with whatever.

Yeah, I was actually more fond of the old look. But either way, it doesn't make a huge difference for me.

Who am I to say? I opened up the page today, and had a PM notification which caused the entire background to be white. I thought it looked real, real nice/clean. So my tastes are probably weird anyway.

The previous look is still available. *edit* Well, actually it's not the old look, but similar. The difference is it's a gradient background that starts blue and then fades to white. I'm working on updated a logo that fits right now. (Pacers Digest May 2007)

I've just added another alternate simply entitled, "Clean". All white background with a simple text "logo".

the hardwood floors is a good concept but the color scheme doesn't work well with the color of the posts...
thx for the option to go back :)

I like the hardwood background. I think the site looks better today than ever.

Its a cool effect but most threads are too long and you end up with blue background next to the first few posts and the rest of the thread is white.

It needs tweaking, but I've added one that's all blue (background). Look for "May 2007 - Blue"
