JO has said that he likes to improve some part of his game during the offseason. It got me thinking, "what do our players need to improve on the court" so what one can our players improve on?

JO-getting down the court, (and possibly shooting the 3 ball:devil:)

DunDun- 3 pt shooting is what he needs to work on.

Murphy- Duh Defense.

Tinsley- Not to be greedy

granger- assists

Diogu- his all around game.

shawne- working in the paint(btw, I expect him to get a lot of pt)

Foster- Shooting

Diener- defense

Hulk- not fouling

Rush- slashing abilities

Daniels- passing

Owens-???
Graham-???

what would you say?

Jermaine: Shot Selection

Dunleavy: Consistency

Murphy: Defense

Tinsley: Decision Making

Granger: Everything, just needs to become more polished

Diogu: Defense, rebounding

Shawne W: Everything

Jeff: Nothing, Jeff is what he is. He isn't a good offensive player but I don't want him to be. I think it would take away from what he does well.

Diener: Defense.

Harrison: Defense, decision making

Rush: Ball handling, defense

Marquis: Shooting

Owens and Graham probably just need NBA experience more than anything.

JO: Leadership - second season with a lot of new faces, he needs to be the center of any good chemistry. His game is refined enough as it is.

Dunleavy: Confidence, mental toughness, etc. and the consistent long ball will fall right into place if he can turn himself around.

Murphy: Everything except for spot-up shooting and rebounding. Literally everything.

Tinsley: Keeping his body healthy and resisting the urge to fire up 3's early in the shot clock without even attempting to rotate the ball.

Granger: Team defense, individual defense. Has to be assertive offensively and avoid being cautious. Needs to learn to attack the basket better, work on his handles and passing.

Diogu: Passing out of double teams. Dude simply looks lost when a perimeter defender closes out on him and he can't shoot.

Shawne: All-around game. He's definitely talented in pretty much every facet of the game, so he just needs to concentrate on mastering the smaller details of each. And he needs to establish a good relationship with JOB, so he can actually see the floor for some decent PT.

Foster: Make some damn layups.

Diener: Everything except for long-range shooting. His passing will probably be decent but I ain't sure about how his court vision will be.

Harrison: Who cares.

Rush: Work ethic. If he plays with some intensity he could get some (empty) stats. Defense.

Daniels: Definitely has to develop a relatively respectable 3. He certainly doesn't need to rely on it considering he's the best slasher on the team, but in JOB's system he can't be too uncomfortable taking some deep shots. Oh, and avoid trouble. And stay healthy.

Owens and Graham: Buy some new suits.

just going out on a limb but i think being able to catch the ball and make a layup isn't going to take away from his game at all. he doesn't need to focus on being a scorer, he can do what jeff does but instead of going 1-5 on layups maybe he can go 4-5... eh?

JO: health, passing

Dun: consistency, 3pt shooting

Murph: defense, confidence

Tins: decision making, leadership

Granger: 3pt shooting, rebounding

Diogu: defense, passing out of double-teams

Shawne: 3pt shooting, rebounding

Jeff: layups! layups!

Diener: defense, ballhandling

Harrison: defense, decision making

Rush: not really sure, probably defense and rebounding

Marquis: health, shooting

ROFL!

The thing I don't understand is the Dun's haircut. He's aiming for the mvp trophy next year. Steve Nash did it with that do, why can't Dun?

Can't disagree there.

I just was thinking as no improvements in terms of being a scorer. I don't want or expect Jeff to be shooting 3 point shots or even 15-18 footers. That's just not his game and I don't want him to do that.

JO - passing to Kobe

Mikey - shooting threes

Murphy - getting stronger, cheaper

Tinsley - less pot, better shot

Granger - driving

Diogu - could work on his height, trade value

Shawne - all of the above, with a few exceptions

Foster - his hands (he should consult Freddie Mitchell on that one)

Diener - I'll get back to you on that

David Harrison - his commercials, "goosfraba"

Rush - well, obviously not his looks

Daniels - health

Owens - his relationship with the people responsible for cutting him at the end of the season

Graham - his Joey Graham impression

I've got a pretty basic list for everybody to work on:

The whole team: getting the basketball to go INTO the basket while in the meantime stopping the opposing team from doing the same thing.

I think one improvement will be JT looking for open men down the court instead of looking at the sidelines and dictator Rick.
