This was a signature over at SpursReport, and after some inquiry I tracked down the article it came from. I love this quote. I can totally hear him saying this.

"I remember one time Kevin Garnett was mushing him, and shoving him in the face; and Tim Duncan didn't do anything, he didn't react. He just kicked Kevin Garnett's a--, and won the damn championship. You know what I'm sayin'? That's gangsta. Everybody can show emotion, dunk on somebody, scream and be real cocky; but Tim Duncan is a ... he's a pimp." - Ron Artest

Wow..

I never knew they both liked men. I mean Duncan, yeah, he talks like a girl and basically lives with David Robinson. But Kevin? I can't believe it.

Good quote though.

I guess the best part has to be learning what Ron Ron's favorite quote is (unfortunately he doesn't metnion who it's originally attributed to, but I'm guessing either Shakespeare or Homer).

But I also really liked this part:

"MJ is my favorite player, my idol, like the uncle you never met Id met him before, though."

He didn't really say this, did he?

"Who wants to sex Mutombo?"
- Dikembe Mutombo in college

Yeah, I don't believe some of these.

"Shaq does it all the time...."
- Kobe Bryant to the arresting officers in his rape trial.

Here are some of the ones that relate to the Pacers currently:

"Just tell me. Did you do it on purpose?"
- Danny Ainge, to then-Celtics coach Jim O'Brien after O'Brien hit his boss's Acura with his Escalade in the Celtics parking lot.

"Tell him Shaq doesn't respond to juvenile delinquents without a college degree. Tell him to get his degree and we can talk. In the meantime, he should call me Dr. Shaq because I'm working on my PhD."
- Shaq to Andrew Bynum

"It's beyond explanation. It's mind-boggling. There are some things you can't understand - the Kennedy assassination, where the aliens are hiding and our ups and downs. Oh, and Stonehenge."
- Troy Murphy, on Golden State's inconsistency

"I didn't want to be like some of these other guys to jump on another team's bandwagon just to get a ring. That's never been my style."
- Reggie Miller, on re-signing with the Indiana Pacers.

"This is my first summer [with] no trouble. I ain't go to jail for speeding. Didn't go to jail for DUI. I didn't break my foot. I didn't break my other foot. I'm one step ahead of the game already."
- Kwame Brown

And, for old time's sake:

"The one thing I've noticed about our new uniforms is the players aren't complaining too much. If they're happy, we're happy. Even Stephen Jackson looks good."
- Larry Bird on the Pacers' new uniforms

"The best day of my life was when I turned 25. That's the day my car insurance went down. Yeah, boy, I saved $1,200 that day."

- Stephen Jackson

^^ haha, that reminds me, one time after a game, we lost, and he ran a red light. Yep, true story.

"They better not put me in the All -Star Game. I won't shoot, but I'll dominate that easy game. I'll be playing hard defense. I'll be foulin'. I'll be flagrant fouling. Everyone will be like, 'What are you doing?'"

- Ron Artest.

Haha, I couldn't resist.

Ok, I didn't want to get into this, but this is too good. I had forgotten this, but I remember when he said this.

"I don't have the first clue who he is talking about, because all I worry about is Jerome."

- Jerome James, on Nate McMillan's comments about players on Seattle being selfish.

i seem to remember posting a response to that on RATS...I wish it were still there...

something to the effect of the irony of using "making love" and "pressure" in the same sentence, when it appeared he was heading for jail. I said something like "you will feel some "pressure" from behind, and Bubba will be telling you that you two are "making love", but...

My question is: If you guys were NBA players would you take your salary in two week installments or 2 individual lump sums? Me, my first year I would take the lump sums. Then after that probably every two weeks.
