The one thing that I do really like about LeBron's supporting cast, even if they haven't really come through at all this series-Drew Gooden's midrange jumper. To me it has looked much better in this series than JO's midrage looked this past year. I'm not saying that Gooden is better than JO by any means, but I wish JO had a bit of a softer touch on that midrange like Gooden has consistently displayed in this series.

Ladies and gentlemen, one more 7-0 or 9-0 run by the Spurs and we can start sending the "2007 NBA Champs" Cavs gear off to Africa and witness what is the modern NBA dynasty.

Big Z's feet are so messed up, he can't jump at all. Duncan wouldn't have just blocked that shot and Z would have dunked it if the poor guy had any hops at all.

Worst Finals of all-time? A sweep with only one truly competitive game. I'd say yes. At least the worst of my lifetime.

Spurs are champions, but one of the more questionable champions of recent times. Too bad Dallas choked, the Suns F'ed up, and the East is a joke. If it weren't for those 3 things, these playoffs might not have sucked.

...so that makes you what, 4?

I know it's hard for you, but please don't be a troll.

Name a Finals worse. Any Finals that wasn't a sweep was better. That eliminates most. So let's look at the sweeps....

Lakers/Nets in 2002 was better, as they were far more exciting teams than the currents Spurs and Cavs. This was the previous title holder, by the way.

Rockets/Magic in 95 was better. Both teams were scoring well into the hundreds, and the games were more competitive.

Pistons/Lakers in 89 was better. I'm sure you'll agree with this. :)

The next previous sweep was 2 months before I was born (76ers over Lakers in 83) and even then, those were 2 legit great teams in the Finals, which can't be said for this year (Cavs). So yep, worst Finals of my 23 year old lifetime.

Kstat
06-15-2007, 12:24 AM
Um, Nets/Lakers 2002 was so much worse than this year. None of those games were ever in doubt.

Watching shaq post and dunk on Jason Collins 60 possessions in a row is the least entertaining thing I can think of.

The only thing worse was watching games 3 and 4 in an arena barely half full.

Spurs win again... Good Job Parker and Bowen. You guys think it's boring but to me, it's great basketball. It shows how good you can be with defensive players and a post up game. It may not "exciting" but it is beautiful to watch the teamwork, defense. Bowen shut down Lebron, if Bowen wouldn't of been there Cavs could of AT LEAST won a game.

Bowen didn't shut down Lebron. It was team defense and Duncan. Lebron got around Bowen, but then he immediately had to deal with Duncan. Parker was fantastic this series. Extremely impressive.

Agreed.

Actually, I think the Nets/Spurs serious might not have been worse, but it was more annoying. The Spurs were going to win, no doubt but they goofed around and took it to 6 games.

Here they clearly established their superiority.

I don't even remember much of that finals. I know I watched every game because I haven't missed an NBA finals game in years. That was truly awful. At least this year we had Lebron to watch.

The Cavs and primarily James had their celebration right after beating Detroit. James' remark about finally making it, to me, meant that he was satisfied with making the finals and was almost ceding the finals to the Spurs. He knew that they didn't stand a chance.

This just highlights how far the East has fallen. There are a lot of young stars, James, Arenas, Wade, etc. but the overall talent is lacking. Of course, the balance of power is usually cyclical but the "turning of the worm" is getting a little overdue.
