It appears the Links page I once created is lost. I have begun construction on a new Links page, but of course I have no official links as of yet.

That's where you come in.

I need you to help me assemble the following types of links (URLs) for each team:

Official web sites (nba.com page, nba.com roster page, espn.com page)

Media (newspaper) sites (the URL to the main page of the team, or if they don't have on the main link to the sports section)

Forums: Any that don't look dead in activity.

ALSO, I'm going to re-construct a "general NBA" list of sites for information on the CBA, salaries of players, draft reports, etc, etc.

The more you help me, and the more people who help me, the better this page will be and the faster it can go up.

Just share what you find as you find it in replies to this thread!

See post #7

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

- Mal

Salary page. They are slow at changing players to different teams, but they are known to be very accurate on their dollar figures.

Two essential statistics sites:

http://www.databasebasketball.com/

http://82games.com/

And the typically most reliable (but harder to find) salary page in terms of being updated:
http://www.eskimo.com/~pbender/contracts

Another contract, salary site.

Thanks guys; keep them coming! It doesn't have to be a lot or all at once; just chip away! Paste one popular fan forum out there, or one link to another team's newspaper, etc...

One of my favorite places is the Ben Maller paper and rumor site. A must for a quick peek on what's going on.

Wow, Abel just produced the following for me:

http://www.able-towers.com/~hicks/forums/view.php?pg=links

Now I plan to adapt it to the new template I've created, but in the meantime take a look over it (it's the original links page pre-down time) and if you see things that are out of date, let me know! Thanks!

This should overall save everyone a lot of time/work.

This is one of the main links I remember us having before.

The 3 links I posted are on there, though basketball reference is now technically basketball database (as I posted) since they did a name change. The link to "reference" still works though.

Patricia's various stuff will get you to her salary stuff I think but I haven't checked that link yet. I do know she moved her stuff to a new server at some point, so that link might need to be fixed via what I posted.

Not sure if/when the Pacers will put up their new online version of the media guide, but I have the PDFs for the one from a couple of years ago. If Pacers.com doesn't still host a version of it then we should probably at least get copies of those PDFs hosted for everyone. It's got stuff like attendence per year, every Pacer players stats all-time, W-L by game for every season, etc.

I wasn't even aware (or I forgot) that there was a .pdf of the media guide available; where is it (specifically) ?

Well they alter the site all the time, so previously the year I got it (2005 or 06, I forget now but not last season's for sure) it was there on the right in a history area or something, but then later was pulled. I think I cached over and D/L all the sections because they were so handy to have around.

NBA.com in general has teams putting up PDFs or other version of media guides but it isn't consistant and sometimes takes some digging to find them. But man, there is a wealth of info in them when you do get them, and e-format is a lot nicer than a hard copy.

edit - I saw no sign via normal browsing, so I did a search on "media guide" at Pacers.com. Turned up some playoff versions for 01-02 and 05-06 right off, plus some more hits I've yet to look into.

http://www.nba.com/pacers/news/playoff_media_guide_0506.html

That 05-06 even has the detailed box scores (including "inactives" and stuff like that) of every possible playoff oppoent's games with the Pacers that year.

edit #2
This page at the bottom has links to a 2 part PDF that is the 06-07 PRE-season media guide, not the playoff versions above. It looks like just about all the media guides are probably out there, just tucked away in "inactive" pages, ie not currently linked to the regular site in any normal browsing capacity.

http://www.nba.com/pacers/news/preseason_central_2006.html

They should make a "Library" featuring these guides I think.

Edit #3
I'm an idiot, sort of. I went back and snooped the front page closer and down under thier "Links" on the left one of the items in the drop down is "Media Guide". It sends you to the 05-06 version.

http://www.nba.com/pacers/news/media_guide_0506.html

This is the one I downloaded I believe. Note that the others that I found by searching don't appear to be accessible this way. And yes, I tried changing _0506 to _0607, no luck with that.
