I hope we pull out a win, but this building has not been kind to the Pacers. We need Rik to step up his game life tonight.

It's almost a given that both of those guys will never play for a team in California after their careers out East.

WOW - i just watched this game finally - I TIVO'd it. (TIVO is the greatest thing since sliced bread). Recorded it as well to a DVD.

Man what a great game by Reg. 25 points in the fourth quarter - Spike Who? :D

I miss that team and the 98 Pacers team even more (ECF vs. Bulls). Watched that game as well, with Reg jumping in circles after the winning shot. That was our year - we would have smoked the Jazz. Darn Bulls - but i respected MJ, and still do - best player ever.

Question if anybody can help / remember: I noticed the black memory patches on the players upper left jersey strap for both games. Does anybody remember who they were commemorating with those? Was one of them for Roger Brown passing away? Malik Sealy? Anybody remember?

I think I'm watching those games again tonight. They brought tears to my eyes.

Which one - 94 or 98? And who was the other one for? Thanks in advance!

Kegboy
08-04-2007, 11:40 AM
Pretty sure '94 was Mrs. Craig. Don't know about '98, Rajah died in March of '97, and Sealy wasn't until 2000.

[edit] Brown died late enough in the Season We Don't Discuss, that they may have had the black on for the whole '98 season. That would be my guess.

I thought it was just '94. That would be Craig's wife. '98 I don't know, but if that was when Sealy died, then that's probably it.

Then 98 would have been Roger. I wonder if they didnt have them at the end of the 97 campain as well, then carried them through the 98 season.

Roger has a huge place in Pacer history with the ABA teams being so successful, obviously.

Thanks Kegboy and Mal!
