Figured I'd start this one too, since I'm sure there's going to be a lot of us watching this one...

I'm watchin'.

I sort of see this one as being entirely up to the Lakers. If they play like they can, the Spurs are done unless Manu or Hedo or Rasho steps up big. I'd love to see Parker get it going but again, that's gonna depend on what the Lakers do.

There was good article by Deveney last week about Shaq. Maybe he's jumping the gun a bit on things but I think he's pretty much on target:

Good grief, someone printed up Derek Fisher shirts with "0.4" printed on it, sold like hotcakes in LA...

Duncan's bank shot is a thing of beauty.

That doesn't surprise me about the 0.4 shirts. Funny that Fisher has been raked over the coals by many Lakers fans the last year or two but now everyone loves him again (at least that's what I've picked up from reading a certain Lakers board so that's not a wide sampling).

Malone and Duncan getting very physical with each other in the post...

I really like Duncan showing that emotion there.

39-all at the half.

It must be a nerve-wracking game for Spurs fans to watch, even though the Spurs are right in there, you keep expecting some big LA run to break out any minute. Hope the Spurs are ready for it.

I can't believe anyone would pay that much money to see a basketball game (regarding what the courtside seats were going for). Insane.

Wow, the Spurs can't hit anything.

This is the Lakers' game to lose, I think.

Lakers, by 5 ;) ;) ;) ;)

I thought we matched up rather well with the Spurs, but not at all with the Lakers

The Lakers still haven't even won the Western Conference yet. Root for Minnesota since they'll have home court.

I just wait for the day Malone can set a screen without moving. I can't stand it. If I had a good shot and a bullet, I would probably save it for a wearwolf, but I would love to kick Malone in his head.

Until the Lakers hoist the O'Brien trophy, they're not NBA Champions.

Until anybody hoists the O'Brien trophy, nobody is the NBA champion this year.

So for people to say since team A lost, there's no way anbody else can win is pretty silly. We can't predict the future, and that's why the games are played.

What's even more silly is me talking like we are a lock for the finals when we haven't even gotten out of the second round yet. We will deal with the Lakers IF we meet them.

The Spurs lack of shooting cost them the game, but if the refs refuse to call fouls on Shaq after he gets in foul trouble then noone will beat them. The ref letting him shove the Spur under the basket and getting the put back when he had 3 fouls was a joke. Even Kerr mentioned the refs let stars get away with more. The ref had no trouble calling Duncan for his 4th after Shaq bulldozed Nestero and missed the layup.

When the ref in our game called JO for making Grant give up his position I mentioned to my wife that it would be interesting if they held Shaq to the same rule. We all know the answer to that.

Al Harrington was the only player who kept it from being a 40 point blowout and we all know playoff Al is not capable of doing that.

But I can see a possible "battle of the O'neals"

Minny has a slight chance. They have to play real well though. They did go 3-1 against LA this year, so there is VERY slight hope. GO TWOLVES!!!!!!!

The problem with the Spurs is you can't shoot 22% in the 2nd Half and expect to win any game ...I don't care who you are.

Man, the spurs just choked that's what happened. You can't put this on the refs or anything. We've all admitted that the home-team gets the advantage anyways.

The lakers just look like a totally different team than they did in the regular season. They should enjoy it while it lasts because come offseason, and if they win, Malone and Payton will be gone. Either Phil or Kobe will be gone and as great as Shaq is (and he is) he can't dominate by himself like he used to.

This year was a messy repairjob in the end by Buss and it will show come summer.

Welcome aboard Steveman!

It's a tough loss for me to take because if the Lakers show up to play I'm not sure anyone else has a chance. I'm not ready to annoint them Champions but if they play like they did in games 3, 4, and 5 of the Spurs series, it's gonna be tough for anyone facing them.
